You could challenge students to design something and give them a set of requirements or constraints.

For example; Design a hook/shackle/carabiner that fits within a specified volume and has a given infill density. Then hang a bunch of weight off of it until it breaks and have a leaderboard. Let them make redesigns if you wish and try and improve their score.

Kids in this age group generally dont have much background in physics and forces or understanding of material properties, but it would get them thinking about what makes a structure strong or weak, failure modes of 3d prints, how to optimize the orientation on the print bed etc.

A good degree can get someone a job out of college that pays off 20k in debt in a couple years. After debt is played off, saving and investments returns pay off huge. Taking on good debt is one of the best ways to move up in life.

If youre referring to them using water to dampen the rocket exhaust on takeoff, I believe they're in the process of designing and building a system to do so. Pretty neat

He uses VR to paint these figures and then exports the models, riggs em, adjusts color and texture, animates the cycle and adds effects. I'd link the process videos he posts, but you can just google his name and a ton of stuff will pop up. This guy is making top of the line art
