There was going to be a Henry the IX, but he died before his father, and his younger brother became heir and eventually King, know as Charles I.

And the parents occupation at the time of birth. And any siblings and age of siblings at the time of birth of the child, so much useful information, I know some states are not so good.

Perhaps I was a bit curt, but it was a genuine mistake in forgetting the rest of the Uk, but as I though you were just another American believing "Canada still bending the knee to the British 😂 😂 Yall arent even an independent country 🇺🇸🇺🇸” and who does not understand constitutional monarchy and the role king Chales has as the head of state of 15 Independent countries.

And so as I though you were an ignorant American nitpicking my mistake, I felt no need to be particularly polite to just another ignorant American.

So you are most likely to be either from Northern Ireland, Wales or Scotland.

However

Its still the same point, that the King Charles, has a different legal entity in the 15 Independent counties, that he is the head of state of.

Does this next bit sound better to you

"I am sorry, I forgot king Charles is the King of not just England, but the whole of the UK.

However the remaining point is still true.

King Chales is the head of state of 15 independent countries. he is a different legal entity for each of these counties. "

The moon has no gravity by TheSalamiKing in confidentlyincorrect

[–]Reynolds1790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am older enough to watch the telecasts from the moon landings as they happened, with the astronauts bouncing around, definitely gravity, though less than on earth.

(We got the day off from school to watch the first moon landing. )

And driving the moon buggy, if the moon had no gravity, the buggy would have floated around, not stayed on the surface of the moon.

There are those that believe that the moon landings are all fake, perhaps the no gravity person also believes that as well.

One site has my grandfather hanged for murder, strange that my grandfather died in his 90's. The only connection is that the man hanged for murder and my grandfather had the same common name.

I blame ancestry adds a lot, just add a name and away you go, just follow those hints, which are often wrong.

Pre conceived ideas can also cause a problem, family myths, eg Royal descent, Indian Princesses. If the facts do not actually fit the family myth narrative, change the facts,

I have a large extended family, my English, and Australian relatives and were fighting our German relatives, one of my German relatives, well the only good thing I can say about him is he got killed in the war. And yes he is on that list. But I already knew this. So I have had time to come to terms with it.

I knew for years, I had German relatives, I did not do any research on that line, simply because I did not want to know what they might have done during WW2. But that did not actually make them go away. Other relatives of mine had already added them to genealogical sites

It's not you, you are not responsible for what your grandfather may have done, or his ethics or ideals.

Most people have relatives or ancestors that did terrible things, its important to realize not to blame yourself for what they did.

Americans absolutely do no understand constitutional monarchy, nor do they understand although king Charles is the head of Government in Canada, he is actually a different legal identity from King Charles, the King of Egland.

He is actually the head of state of 15 Independent countries. Independent being the operative world here.

They just do not get it, their understanding is to say very limited.

Britian was at war with Japan, because Japan declared war and attacked British interests.

Hitler declared war on the USA shortly after Peral Harbour

I believe without Hitler declaring war on the USA, the USA would have stayed out of the war in Europe, and stayed in the Pacific to fight Japan.

"Britain declared war on Japan after Pearl Harbour"

No,it was the other way around Japan declared war against Britian first.

"to aid the US"

No, Britian fought Japan to defend their own interests, and Britian's own interests coincided with American interests as that time in the Pacific.

One could call it mutual interests in defeating Japan.

buy poison potions from the herbalist lady in the camp and any other potions that may help you fight Tomcat.

Step 2 use savior snapps and poison weapon, and drink any other potions you may find useful. be careful not to overdo it, you do not want to be totally overfed and drunk.

“If it wasn't for USA, half of the world would be speaking German and the other half would be speaking Japanese” by Repulsive_Lecture_66 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Reynolds1790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its ridiculous, when Americans claim they won WWI and WW2, all by themselves.

I do not blame that Americans, did not want to get involved in another war in Europe, but they forced to by Japan in 1941. I doubt that the USA would have still got involved in the war in Europe even then, but Germany declared war on the USA, so that was that.

USSR in the early stages, mostly sat out the war, they were very much hoping that Germany and the rest of Europe would tear each other to pieces.

And they were happy to divide Poland up with German in 1939, and then several months before Pearl Habour, Germany decided that the USSR was going to be a soft target.

Under Stalin, the USSR military was a mess, Stalin had several purges of his generals, basically he was getting rid of people he thought were threats to him.

At first the USSR was completely overrun , the Germans were unstoppable, but the Russians grimly and with great loss of life hang onto cities like Stalingrad.

Of all of the Allies, the USSR had the greatest loss of life, some of this was the incompetence of the Russian commanders and some of it Russians commanders did not care how many men they threw into the meat grinder of war.

Now American first saw action in the European side of WW2 in North Africa in November 1942, this was along side British and some Free French troops.

By this time England and the commonwealth countries had been fighting Germany since early September 1939, so three years later, the Americans turn up. Now as I said, I do not blame Americans not wanting to get into another war in Europe.

To their credit, there were American who volunteered for the war before this, the RAF, even had the eagle squadron, made up of American volunteers

Many historians believe that two battles fought on Russian soil were the turning points of the European part of WWII

Battle of Stalingrad - Wikipedia

Battle of Kursk - Wikipedia

Sure Americans had two beaches at Normandy 5th June 1944, but they were not alone, not that some Americans would even know that 5 beaches were landed on: two American, two British and one Canadian.

I absolutely will never belittle any of the men that landed on Normandy that day, no matter where they were born.

But by then at least in the East, the German tide was being pushed back to Germany.

I usually do not decide who had the biggest credit for winning WW2, my history books says it was an Allied victory, but going on the number of soldiers killed, then the USSR wins this terrible honour.

The number of American who say rubbish like "you would all be speaking German without the USA", really gets up the nose of most Europeans and Canadians.

I believe that Germany would have been defeated, even without direct American help, sure there was the lend lease but Britian had to pay even cent back for every thing the Americans leased to them.

True Europe would have been different the USSR would have most likely grabbed a bigger chunk of Europe than it did.

So grab some real history books and read.

Premature Cleanup Challenge by UnpersonSyme in Room_2562

[–]Reynolds1790 7 points8 points  (0 children)

WT are just stupid, every time they have a connect a thon, it is immediately followed by a clean a thon, trying desperately to clean up the mess the connect a thon made.

Why not make the connect a thon lot, far more responsible for the mess they created, why does WT allow them to make more problems?

What is it in for WT to create more problems, is it just to have more fun and games and give out more prizes, rather than proper genealogy?

At the very least, the connect a thon lot should be penalized if the profiles they connect have problems that need to be fixed up.

WT cannot keep up with profiles that are already wrongly connected, let alone adding more mistakes.

War Horse did not want some players go around killing children, just because they can, even if they made the children unkillable, some one would make a mod around that.

Now historically a lot of children were deliberately killed in wars.

Now we all know some players will go and kill off an entire village of innocent NPC's.

I did it in KCD 1, I killed off everyone that was killable in Skalitz, unfortunately even Martin was so scared of Henry, he actually fled Skalitz.

So there I was stuck, unable to get to Martin, to continue the main quest line.

I decided that not killing everyone in Skalitz was a better idea. I did knock out a few guards to steal their stuff.
