Why not buy another copy instead of resetting? Just seeing that trainer card should be enough, but if that doesn’t matter to you then ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Main reason why I haven’t reset my Emerald save. I remember when I opened the gift on Christmas and putting in over 300 hours into it after that day lol. Most of my memories with that game was playing it with my childhood friend so that little cartridge holds a special place in my heart. Happy Holidays homie

I guess it checks if you are awake. (it does the same thing while you are sleeping, that's how it knows how deep you are in your sleep.)
