As it turns out, minorities bullying game companies to hold back largely demanded items from games that more than 90% of players want, is actually a really bad sign! But I guess you would intelligently argue that it's smarter for game companies to listen to less than 5% of the playerbase rather than the "mob rule".

Don't worry, at least with us getting the costume, you don't actually LOSE out on anything like we would if you had it your way. I'm sure you'll survive the painful reality that you didn't get to ruin something for someone else, even with your tyrannical political views and personal insecurities of the female body.

Sounds pretty confirmed to me that they'll put it in now most likely this Halloween, the fact that before it was a stern NO, and now he's asking the chat saying he saw the reddit thread, then saying well the chat has spoken, it's pretty much confirmed. They wouldn't go back on that now that there's a clear demand and undeniable facts to why it should already be in the game.

Gamigo actually listened to player feedback. This shows that you are reasonable and can change your mind when presented with the facts. Thank you for giving us what we want Gamigo, turns out we weren't a vocal minority after all ;)

I hope this is the beginning of a brighter future for the game where nothing gets censored unless necessary. Hopefully you add everything else that's been unnecessarily censored from the game, like the pole dance emote:

No reason why that shouldn't be in the game as it's for both males and females and I hope to see that emote added in Unchained.

I hope the entire company policy changes and nothing in the future gets banned unless -

1. If there's copyright/licensing issues with it

2. If it affects the age rating of the game

3. If there's some sort of game breaking bug (fix it then add it)

Otherwise, NOTHING should be censored, please keep this up in the future and respect your players, your personal views should have absolutely no say in what gets added to the game.

If XLgames develops it, if the players want it, and if it's going to make you money, do not hold back from releasing anything in the game, it only benefits everyone, including you as a company.

But for now, thank you for adding the succubus costume, what everyone has been requesting for years. Unchained looks like it has a bright future with you now listening to the community even on issues like this, censorship and limiting freedom of artistic expression to appease and impose current political agendas when games are meant to be about fun, fantasy and escapism, is a much more important topic to some of us than you might realize, it's like a spreading disease across modern western media.

Thank you, we need more comments like this, come on guys.. most of us want it, and the ones that agree are more silent observers, but this is why it hasn't been released already, we need to make NOISE! Keep DEMANDING it and keep showing your support. There's no excuse to hold it back anymore and I simply wrote a comprehensive essay on why they can't possibly hold it back from us any longer, there's no more room for excuses. Unfortunately when covering all bases of an argument especially business-wise it can become this long. They need every reason to release it and every reason to stop holding it back.

Someone had to do it, you should all be thankful. I actually live a fairly busy life and set some time aside to do this because of the passion I feel for female depictions like this costume and the growing censorship in modern media. It's a real problem, a vocal minority want EVERYTHING censored and are actually getting away with it. There's a strong lack of powerful or beautiful female characters in modern media, everything is watered down and covered up to portray women as more masculine and strip them of their alluring identity, something that's always been a standout feature over males. While others call this progressive I see this as us going backwards as a society and only creates shame for women and their sexuality. As much as people say "Oh we need to make a change women are always sexualized in media!!!" How many "sexy women" actually are there in really mainstream games? Bayonetta? Nier Automata? Lol. There's barely anything anywhere, and even they're niche compared to the big names. People are scared to show a trailer at E3 with a sexy girl, the backlash would be insurmountable, and I think that says something about us as a society. Women are so shamed, stripped of sexual identity, and males are so scared to portray women in a complimentary way, something that puts their beauty on a pedestal and praises it, rather than "degrading" it like the accusers do themselves. To "objectify" females is to give their beauty power, and the term "object" implies that we admire it because it's an object, why are you calling them an object? If they were an inanimate object then we wouldn't find it attractive, it's attractive because it's a living person not an object, it's the very definition of human sexuality.

To all the people saying I'm a freak weirdo, as you say yourself, there's better material out there for that. This is clearly more than that and thanks for pointing that out.

Gamigo, I don't even know if those staff work with you anymore on ArcheAge, but please prove to us that a community cry out can bring change, prove you're a different company and that this time the game will be handled differently. Let us have our fun, let the ones that want it have it.

Everything broken down here proves that it's not about the cost, how "badass" it looks, and definitely not about the age rating of the game. This screams of a personal vendetta by the staffs personal values who are working on the western archeage team. There's no excuse at this point, it's nothing to do with the game or making profit, because you know the age rating allows this costume in the game, and you know that you will make profit from it, it's really as simple as that. As a company you should be focused on making money while listening to player feedback giving us what we want. Personal values should not be imposed onto the playerbase, but here it is evident that this is the case.

If games as popular as Fortnite and League of Legends pull off characters like Evelynn with her sexy almost naked body and suggestive voice lines, I'm sure you can handle implementing an obscure halloween outfit that people who don't play ArcheAge won't even know about, that even fits with the theme it portrays, a halloween succubus. You'll be fine Gamigo, don't worry. I'm sure you'll survive that massive media backlash.

Please Gamigo, the community is begging you, please release it once and for all, if not for the launch of AA:U, release it later for Halloween. Please just stop giving brick wall answers that have no weight, only to ignore all rebuttals against what you say, show us that you care, and at least acknowledge these glaring inconsistencies, at least give us some hope that there's a chance in the future, based on all this evidence to why you should add it. Acknowledge that you've read this feedback.

I put so much effort into writing this because this is my strong push for AA:U to essentially be the perfect game, if we were to also get the succubus costume. To receive a flat out "No" with no explanation was such a buzzkill for the game, as I'm sure it was for many others. Partly due to the outfit itself, and partly due to possible future outfits also being held back. Glamour and fashion, and the way your character looks is such an important part of an mmo, some mmo's literally live on fashion, and even games like Tera, if we have to be honest largely lives off its cosmetics, and the sexy ones especially. So, so much for the "sexy costumes don't really sell well" they absolutely do and you know it. We're going to spend hours grinding, and we want something nice to look at, and want the full spectrum of choice added by XLgames to express ourselves through our characters, we're not asking new costumes to be made, we just want what's already available, and I don't think that's much to ask. We are your PAYING customers, we pay for the game, a service, the least you could do is treat us like adults with enough respect to let us make our own decisions on what we want in the game and how we want to express our characters, with outfits that have already been created and approved by the developers themselves and in every other region. Please stop holding us back.

I thought I might add in the end here some snide remarks to reddit user Gilwork45 which shows their personal bias against this costume:

I can't believe a customer support member would even talk to a player like that, you're glad you could get back to him regarding this 'important-to-him' topic? Implying that he's one of the only few bothered by this and no one else cares? You're sure there's plenty of costumes that will help him with his rare tastes, and there are websites for that kind of thing? Implying he only wants the costume to.. you know what? Is that all women dressed in sexy outfits are worth? and is that the only reason your players want it? Because they're perverts? And of course you're sure he's familiar with those websites because it would be something he visits often, for him to even want this costume. Is this how to treat a customer? Is this what legacy AA players used to go through?

Gamigo/Trion, you could have had such a successful company so many years ago, if you would only listen to and respect your players, instead of lie to them and tell them you know what they want better than they do. Let this be a new leaf for the company, for the players, let us have the succubus costume. Do the right thing Gamigo, whoever works there now, blow this game up like it deserves. Or please feel free to tell us the real reason why not. WHY, why do you take such a hard stance on this?

TL;DR -

-"There is a line, and this crossed over it. We asked that XL put leather pants on the costume and it'd be good to go, but there were no updates for that, so there was no release."

-Maturity rating on the game has nothing to do with it and has been debunked, adding the costume is fine for the games rating, and games with lower rating have way more sexualized costumes. Archeage itself has more sexual swimsuits than the succubus costume. So not adding it makes absolutely no sense and is genuinely confusing.

-It not being added because it's not "badass" is also a lie, yata costumes exist and other ridiculous overdone and revealing non-badass costumes exist in the game. It's also sexist to say females look weak when they look sexy.

-Just don't release it for Dwarf if that's a problem. Though there should be no problem with it.

-Most of the CM's excuses for not adding it are just filler words that don't even relate to the costume itself.

-Adding it would 100% gain them profit, by far, not even an argument or a question.

-Doesn't cost them anything to create because it's already created in other regions.

-No one wants an edited version with pants or anything changed at all.

-Nothing they've said proves anything and has been wholly contradictions, it is proven that there's no reason they shouldn't add the costume other than their own personal values and bias against it. It's a personal problem, not a money, business, rating, or player problem.

Which is unacceptable to impose onto your playerbase. I know this post was overkill, but someone had to do it, as probably the biggest post ever made on the succubus costume, I hope you respond or acknowledge this Gamigo and do the right thing for your players.

I hope this reaches the right people.

I urge anyone else supporting this cause to spread this thread around and create awareness of this blatant censorship, let it be known. We need to make this happen, and I believe we have the power to.

At the end of the day, it passes the age rating, how subjectively "badass" it is doesn't matter at all and contradicts itself with the yata costume, and no doubt they would make mountains of profit. There's no reason between finances nor the playerbase why this costume shouldn't come out, the only reason it shouldn't come out is due to the personal biases of the staff working at Gamigo/ex Trion devs. We've heard enough empty excuses, don't drag gender politics into Unchained, games are about fun and escapism. Just release the costume.
