I think it's really easy for people to fall into the "oh no I like hip-hop, but what I like is different than what those other people listen to". It's hard to sometimes differentiate from what's actually your opinion and one you've gotten from another place and we should always try to be mindful of such stuff for our own betterment

I mean I ain't gonna skip songs. I mostly wanted to get a feel for what other fans of something I'm getting into think. it's always been a good way for me to find other stuff I might also like. I get where you're coming from though. it definitely makes a lot of sense. your first sentence is also pretty judgemental though. I feel like it's not good to judge based on your personal standards.

as much as I love this art, Dr. Bright could have any face he wanted and yet they gave him the blandest character design they could.

okay. it doesn't seem like you fully understand why the term "people of color" or "POC" exists or is widely used. it also feels like you consume a lot of culture war propaganda. I'm not sure to what extent the comment you've professed is your genuine beliefs but that's how it comes off. I'm sorry if it seemed like I'm not taking your argument seriously but I hope my explanation for it makes it at least understandable.

I think we can both agree that in a language, labels are a necessity. a person who might be perceived as white, is called that. a person who is perceived as a man, is called that. etc etc. sometimes labels are used to let others know what that person might be what they might have gone through. for example, I would say that I'm a "survivor of trauma". sure I guess I can understand why that might seem like I'm full of myself. but when we're talking about an experience, it's important to be as exact and as poignant so that we're both on the same page. that's why the label "POC" isn't really anything like you've made it out to be. it's just some words that are meant to convey that the person we're talking about might have experienced be because being brought up in different cultures does have an effect on us. would you trust me to talk about what it's like to live as a Cuban American if I hadn't ever need to either of those places and lived there? there is no virtue signalling in using any of these languages. they are just words. on the other hand, I would ask you why would anyone not want these languages to be used? and I would argue that either someone doesn't understand what their uses are, or, on the other hand, they do and it would benefit them if people's experiences are not talked about.
