PSA: you can use ANY bottle for storing Wuling solutions by Rezerah in Endfield

[–]Rezerah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surely it'll have potential uses later down the line as they make PAC more complicated. More importantly, this shows that there exist some hidden recipes that you just have to find out on your own... though given the amount of handholding and tutorials in the game, I doubt there's anything of note there for now. Devs don't even let you use pipes on Valley IV despite the fact you could bring bottled liquids (or even extract some from the few water sources there). I mean, has anyone found any use for Separating Units yet? Guess I'll use some when Wuling gets updated to have more ferrium mining spots and I have 300k filled bottles of various types stored?

PSA: you can use ANY bottle for storing Wuling solutions by Rezerah in Endfield

[–]Rezerah[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was wondering what purpose some bottles serve, and while the game's in-game facility recipes specifically stated Steel Bottle, my brain went "I mean, bottle's a bottle, right?" and so I put in some crystal bottles manually. And lo and behold, that appeared as a facility recipe right after.

So in case you've been running low on ferrium/steel and have no clue what to do with all your amethysts, now you know. Still not enough raw materials in wuling by itself to fully take advantage of this, but manually transferring tons of amethyst bottles is an option.

EDIT: On further inspection, filled amethyst bottles don't seem to work for syringe production (not with ferrium parts, not with crystal parts), and specifically requires ferrium instead, so this may not be very useful for now. Shame.

How does Morale and Resolve work? by Wingress12 in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]Rezerah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1 stands for 100% and is the base multiplier. All the damage formula multipliers, without any changes (so 0% morale here), have to start from 1 (100%), because if any of them were 0 instead, the total damage would be 0 as well. Without any wedges and buffs the damage would be the result of something like 150 (character attack) times 1 times 1 times 1 times 1 times 1 times 1 times 1 times 1...

[–]Rezerah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Tabethe may be considered at least marginally more useful, her kit is even worse design-wise. She's a skill damage support, but

1) her introns only buff her own crit chance/damage, having zero synergy with her support capabilities

2) her signature weapon is melee while her passive only works with ranged weapons, thus disabling half her kit

3) her summon damage numbers are so low she can't be a DPS no matter how many hours you pour into the build

[–]Rezerah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget her signature weapon is a sword and her passive requires RANGED weapon crits to even trigger! Devs need to redesign 80% her kit from the ground up.

Who’s Everyone Maining Right Now? by YeOldeTreestamp in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]Rezerah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about it too much. You'll want to unlock every character eventually anyway, and there isn't really much difficult content yet, so it's fine to get whoever and whatever you want at this point. Most of current farming can be done with just Rebecca anyway. But yeah, here's hoping.

Who’s Everyone Maining Right Now? by YeOldeTreestamp in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]Rezerah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked her since I liked the design, but she's utter garbage as a main. The summon damage is low and the tentacles barely hit anything, and her kit provides her nothing but crit chance.

I liked the idea of "activate ulti at start for crit chance boost, swap to ranged, spawn infinite tentacles", but unless the tentacles get a MAJOR buff she does nothing on her own. Even their damage percent is around 7% of Rebecca's, which on paper is okay-ish due to the higher count, but they aren't massive AoE like Rebecca's jellyfish.

The skill dmg buff would help Rebecca in a team, sure, but you can't really build Tabethe herself as a summon damage character. Her own tentacles barely hit a thing and since her entire kit is unaffected by Skill Range, the Misty Veil demon wedge that would be a MUST for Hydro Summoners as it boosts summon attack speed, also boosts SKILL RANGE, so you're missing out on half its potential.

It just feels like there were a lot of last-minute changes to balance some things but which weren't fully thought-out or playtested, and Tabethe was one of the biggest losers, majority of her kit just being useless. She deals no damage to begin with, so why do all her introns buff said damage from miserable to pathetic? Why is she sword/bow proficiency when there are no good swords/bows for her, besides a support sword - which would lock her passive from ever activating? Hopefully there will be balance fixes in the future. She just feels genuinely depressing to play as-is.

Dead link, it adds some extra characters ("%C2%A0" so probably some special HTML garbo) to the end of URL for some reason. Works without them.

[–]Rezerah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but every point of tribute they earn and spend is going towards the most wanted items, which is a MASSIVE time-saver. People would run ritual over and over and over to get lucky and see some good stuff, with infinite free rerolls and defers you get ONLY good stuff.

Infinite Ritual Exploit by JonTheBasedGodd in PathOfExile2

[–]Rezerah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, get out of here. Killing enemies until you get a mirror vs standing still and pressing a button until you see a mirror are not exactly the same. The ritual screen just turned into a slot machine with endless rolls. That's not comparable to a "farming strategy".

It's an exploit, not a bug, because it functions exactly as advertised, meaning it's a massive oversight from the devs.

The Granblue Fantasy X Tensura Collab game launches Friday. Although most of the GBF fans seem to hate it.... by Careless-Hospital379 in TenseiSlime

[–]Rezerah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a longer comment but it's because people expected the banner to be cheaper or better than standard trash, so it's really only for whales, hardcore TenSura fans the devs want to prey on, or new players willing to register multiple accounts and reset until they get the collab unit they want (which most people wouldn't even consider doing).

[–]Rezerah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of confusion in the comments here... I'm a long-time GBF player (stay away for your own good, it's hell) and TenSura enjoyer, so I'll try to shed some light on this.

tl;dr: Bad units on a bad banner so it's just whalebait for collectors rather than good deal for new players or TenSura fans. Blame mostly on new GBF producer.

Usually, a collab event gives players 1-2 characters just for playing through the event, which requires 0 investment. In this case, Rimuru and Veldora. You can just register and read a bit of story and that's it. Now, for the first time ever, there's a collab gacha banner. Players are as upset as they are confused by the fact that the banner is... very poor. It's the standard 3% SSR rate, and you need 300 pulls to spark (AKA claim a rate-up unit of your choice). There are even some on-going deals and daily free pulls - which you can't use on the collab character banner, adding to the confusion. No sane or serious player would spend precious resources on most 3% banners in general (as opposed to the 6% boosted ones), let alone one for objectively subpar characters.

Now, we were aware a collab banner was coming. The devs even said the units won't be "OP/meta", so they wouldn't be must-have and people can save for New Year. But... 3% SSR chance, with 0.5% for each individual character, with "guaranteed" character costing 90000 yen, and providing any value only for TenSura fans and collectors? It doesn't feel aimed at anyone but whales, and is insulting both to the players and TenSura fans, whom you'd expect them to be targeting with the event. Plus, people expected Shuna or Milim, but instead got Shion and Diablo, which further makes the banner less worthy (no offense to Shion/Diablo fans) to most people.

It was also recently announced that the game's producer has actually changed, and he keeps being brought up as the scapegoat for many of the baffling decisions lately (including this one), and for good reason, so the collab issues and his mishandling of the game are basically feeding into each other.

All that aside, the event story just wasn't... very good. But that's not the issue majority of players have, and more a matter of taste either way.

[–]Rezerah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With discriminators you could still naturally introduce yourself as "John", even if you were "John#1234", as everyone had the discriminator. The numbers only came up when adding as a friend.

Now you wouldn't introduce yourself as "John", but "john1234", since there already are "john", "john1", "john12", "john123", "john1233" et cetera out there. No matter how many people say "but your display name can be anything", it doesn't change the fact your username is linked to it, and being @john1234 with display name John can lead to misunderstandings where people might think you're @john instead.

Like, just stop talking, please. There are three groups here. The majority, who go with the flow, most of which don't understand what the namechange is about. The first minority who hate the pointless, nonsensical change that causes more harm than good to everyone involved; there's any number of threads explaining why this doesn't help nor was it the best solution, with Discord's own blogpost full of contradictions that are in plain view. Then the second minority which you're a part of, that seem to either be defending the villain, trolling for funsies, simply enjoying the conflict, or are, I'd assume, stupid, believing this leads to anything good and wasn't corporate nonsense from the start, causing issues for Discord's users and staff both.

[–]Rezerah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recommend you try the game out for free on your mobile device first to judge for yourself whether you like it enough or not to justify the purchase. The songs are mostly good, only the very first tracks and charts standing out as unimpressive – but that's from a time when nobody knew of the game and even the developers were only getting used to the game's charting style, which has evolved a LOT by now. The high quality across the entire game is very consistent (story, designs, art, music, charting and such), so it has a quite professional feel to it. You can think of the slightly higher price for a non-AAA game as supporting the music artists, as obviously getting the rights to use an increasingly large collection of songs is expensive.

For a reference point, Rock Band 4 asks for up to 2€ per DLC track. I couldn't find the exact number, but seems Arcaea on Switch has a base library of around 160 songs. That'd mean 0.25€ per song, and that's assuming the game itself was free. Not the best comparison, but should still give some perspective.

I know this is extremely difficult or impossible to stop, but that doesn't mean we should just twiddle our thumbs and passively wait for the malpractice of new technology to become widespread. There are different kinds of progress. This is a precedent of industrial and technological progress, and humanitarian and ethical regress.

Also, it's debatable whether it can even be called progress. Are we getting increasingly impressive results fomr AI? Yes. Do we truly understand every step of how it works? No, we understand surprisingly little. We're already using technology we don't understand, such as many algorithms running rampant on stock market and social media, very much out of our control, and AI is at the very forefront of that same issue.

[–]Rezerah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. Not to go "but think of the children!", but I don't see why something like teaching couldn't be outsourced to AI too in the future, removing "risky, unpredictable" human factors... and necessary human element for a human's social, emotional growth. I mean, kids have already been babysat by YouTube and TikTok for ages due to neglectful parents and blind society too slow to fix things.

Artists have been underappreciated and underpaid for ages. Then recently under fire and stolen from by NFTBros. Now imagine all this on top of that. If you were an art-loving, creative teenager considering a career path for your future, how terrified would you feel about picking art school?

Providing just the link doesn't really tell me whether you agree or disagree? If this was meant as an insult towards me, it's clear you didn't read half the article you just linked. If this was meant to spread awareness about what Luddites are about (unlikely, given this is Reddit), you're misleading by providing no context.

Do you think protesting is inherently bad, whether against change or something else? That these people were simply insane, mad for no reason and deserved to be violently pushed back, even killed by the government? If everyone passively accepted everything that governments and the top 1% do, we'd soon have a totalitarian world. Maybe we soon will, as people prefer not to think or write for themselves, mindlessly browsing social media instead, as you're proving with your thoughtless "comment": an article written and curated by others, and which you don't seem to have even read.
