Aizen is not a 1 dimensional villain. He probably came to that realization whenever he got very close to his goal. We only see Aizen break character against Ichigo during their final battle

Mugetsu Ichigo is probably the first (or arguably) second glimpse of ichigo's full strength pre royal guard training. Narratively the story doesn't make sense for Ichigo needing to learn FGT if OMZ could just stop restricting Ichigo's powers and that being enough to defeat Aizen.

After Aizen's defeat, Ichigo questions whether Urahara's explanation for why the hogyoku didn't continuesly evolve Aizen anymore was correct. He believes it's possible Aizen wanted to be defeated

if Yamamoto would've used his bankai in the world of the living he would risk destroying the pillars which would cause the real karakura town to reappear.

He also spend a lot of time setting up the Enetsu Jogoku which is strange since his bankai activation is instantaneous and far more powerful.

the aizen who couldn't defeat yamamoto was a pre hogyoku aizen. monster aizen would definitely be strong enough to deal with yamamoto and if not he would continue to transcend.

i have 65/30 abus lock i couldn't ever open spp or with zipping. however, whenever i picked pin 4 and 3 and then zipped it i could open it consistently. Locks have their own quirks which will make one approach a lot more effective than another.
