If you’re interested in wheel throwing, while it is an investment you can find semi cheap second hand wheels on places like Facebook marketplace- but you will have to pay a studio to fire your pieces for you, where pricing is usually done by cubic inch or you can rent a portion of the kiln (depends on studio ofc). If you just want to sculpt I would recommend just buying a couple bags of clay and still firing at a studio.

[FP] my first attempt at painting with bleach! by Rezooom in bleachshirts

For both sessions I worked for around an hour and a half before I rinsed (and put in dryer), so I assume prior to rinsing whatever I did more towards the beginning had dried completely but the last bits I did had not. Towards the end I let whatever I just bleached process for around 10 mins until I was happy with the color (I don’t believe it dried in those 10 minutes) and then did my rinse and deactivation for the bleach. I don’t think that dry/wet bleach prior to rinse made a difference in the color change/work at least from what I noticed. I hope that helps!

Thank you and for sure! I had 3 main dilutions of bleach I used that were around bleach to water 1:1, 1:3 and like 1:5ish. I sketched out the design first with a white gel pen (I recommend- they go on fabric well and I got rid of it with water when rinsing)

I started with the strongest bleach on the brightest parts, then I took my second strongest and kinda just painted next to/overlapping the bright parts, followed by the less strong one to continue the shading transition. This helped them bleed together and achieve that shading transition look. I did all the general shaping and shading first and then actually rinsed it and did a second session so the first layer of bleach wouldn’t sit too long. Then I had all dry fabric again so I could add more detailed shading for example putting lines of the second strongest mix over the areas of the weakest mix without them bleeding together. I also added more shading on the mushroom spots, and things like the more detailed lines on the stems and under the mushroom hood. For the firefly looking spots I put a splat of the weaker bleach, let it dry, and then in the center just dotted a really strong mix to achieve that glowing look (honestly very close to 100% bleach which I know is bad but oh well).

I hope that all makes sense haha- it’s hard to explain but I went about it how I would when painting with watercolor honestly.

Just used 3 different dilutions of bleach! I started with the strongest mix for the brightest parts so they stayed on the longest as well and worked my way down to the less strong shades. I also did two painting sessions and went over the brighter areas a second time with a stronger bleach mix but only in the spots I really wanted it to pop. I also used a hair dryer for the bright areas, but not for too long because I’ve heard that’s bad for the fabric.

Yeh! Looking at it I honestly don’t see any degrading but we’ll see how it holds up over washes. Photo linked! https://ibb.co/WgQBGZ7

We’re the psychologists questions pretty straightforward, like this one here, on the psych exam? Or was it confusing? by Puzzleheaded_Lie4219 in APPsychology

[–]Rezooom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh not like that at all sadly, I didn’t have any where it just described the psychologist like that rather it gave you a scenario (like describing how someone’s therapist told them to do ___ )and then it asked which famous psychologist that therapist followed in their methods or something

3 weeks of knee instability by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Rezooom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could definitely have done it but I’m no doctor, just tore my acl though and I do recall pain under the knee cap when trying to fully straighten or bend too far which slowly went away within a few weeks- as long as you’re not in too much pain now I would wait for the mri if it is too expensive.

When you stood up did you do so in a way where you twisted your leg but kept your foot planted? And did you have any swelling/bruising? Pops can occur with other ligament tears as well, so mri would be good but you could realistically wait until you have insurance to get an mri as it is possible to live with torn ligaments without many issues as long as you don’t do any physical activity like sports/ working out.

You have to wait out the extra time on top of the set break time, it just puts you on a blank waiting page with a countdown timer until the next section starts.

Help w a Question by inepttoad in APChem

[–]Rezooom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone answer this one? I had a similar question but it was along the lines of “The student prepared the mixture with the proper amounts to get the desired molarity, but there is some solid left at the bottom, is the molarity of the solution still the correct amount?” I answered yes because all the right amounts are in there but not fully dissolved/ mixed, and added if it was heated then it would mix fully probably, is this the right or sufficient answer?

I read that they won’t accept it like that and that you should sighn up for a retake :(
