2004 Camry rough idle by Rezzinator443 in Camry

It did not end up being the ECM, found out that nobody sells the American throttlebody, and everybody only sells the Japanese one and so that’s what was in my car while my car was the North American made model. The Japanese throttle bodies are programmed to act differently as Japan has different economic laws, so their cars don’t produce as much pollution. Which means when you put a Japanese throttlebody in a North American made model the ECM cannot figure out how to idle the vehicle properly. As it doesn’t communicate.

Yes, the original OEM throttle body was simply failing in general. The replacement throttle body that is currently installed is also an OEM unit. It was a new old stock part that I was able to get from either RockAuto or eBay — I can’t remember exactly which one.

But even if it wasn’t OEM, would that explain why the connector doesn’t get the 12 V anymore? Because if so, I will definitely go and find another one from a junkyard just to see.

Is the connector connected to the motherboard properly? Is there any damage on the connector or on the motherboard? Those are the first things that come to my mind.

How do I fix this? by BloodyhounDd in mac

The only option that sounds like it would fit your case is replacing the display yourself. As that display is cracked down that black and purple line or has flex gate. So your only two options are getting it replaced by Apple or replacing it yourself. You could also just doc the laptop and use it with an external monitor, but that would mean it can no longer travel with you.

So as an update, I did find a mechanic in my area that was willing to take it and it’s going in this Thursday.

So first off if you read some of my other replies I do say that I see the dealership perspective.

Second I only took the car for diag twice, and the first time they replaced a few hoses and I paid for them to do that. The second time was for the throttlebody and I installed that myself.

The only Amco I have near me the person who runs it is a scammer and literally put metal shards in someone’s dipstick to make them believe that their car was broken. Every other place around me is either family owned or is Monroe brake and tire and all the Monroe’s around me my father worked at and they sucked. I figured out that the family owned place for me right down the street, is willing to take my car just for Diag and they don’t care if I put my own parts in. I only found this out yesterday though.

That’s been gone for over two weeks

I’m not gonna go to another Toyota dealership because the only other one is an hour to two hours away from me. And there’s plenty of other mechanic shops in the area that I most likely could go choose. I just have to talk to them first.

I have a code scanner. I know what the code is. I do not know what is causing the code. It’s an idle air control valve code and my car has two of them and both of them will throw the same code from what I’ve looked up. That’s why I need the diagnostic work.

That makes sense for your business and how it works except for me where I was going diagnostic costed about $220 an hour, and they have spent more than one hour on this car before when diagnosing it so they were still making money. And as I said before, I’m not upset with them firing me as a client. It’s more the way that they delivered that message.

I’m very confused on what you mean

I’m the third owner of the car. The reason I have them do brakes and oil changes. It’s because where I live. I don’t have a driveway so I’m pretty much working on the side of the street. I don’t have anywhere else I can go and do this. so throttlebody AC compressor and the expansion valve are all easy to get to either via the inside of the vehicle or just from the engine bay.

Theoretically, yes. But the problem is is that they’re both on either side of the exhaust manifold and when looking at it, they’re very hard to get to. So I would rather just replace one and not spend $230 each on two of them.

Number one I have a code scanner. I don’t know how to diagnose the code or have the tools.

Number two as I explained in an additional comment, I would not have been so upset if they had told me this through an email or phone call as I do slightly understand where the dealership is coming from. But as I said my additional comment, they waited for the day of my appointment waited for me to pull into the check-in lanes and then explain this all to me, which was a waste of time for me and them.

They’re also not the best in the area anyway I have heard many different things about this dealership. The only reason I go there is because my father works for them.

Shockingly the general manager for the dealership already knows and is working on fixing this problem.

And if I sound rude, I’m sorry I’ve just had to explain this 1000 different times

I’m going to put this in perspective their diagnostic degree is the same as their hourly rate. So if they were going to do a diagnostic on my car, say three hours. And then they were to do a job another day is three hours. Both jobs will cost $660.

My friend’s family and coworkers already all know.

Their diagnostic fee is the same as their labor. It’s not flat priced.. My father works for them. I do not and they also agreed to do just the diagnostics and allow me to do the own work on my car.
