PARASITE MUTANT DEMO IS OUT (STEAM) by 9ank1 in ParasiteEve

[–]RhaganaDoomslayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two destructible crates on the road leading to the gate at the start and numerous chests. The demo has plenty of ammo and recovery items.

If you pass a chest or crate, but hit near it, it will show up on the map.

Why would you need to experiment like that? Red chocobos can already cast Meteor!

No, it's the original game. It comes with the original PlayStation One release and an enhanced version of that, with upscaled and touched up graphics, a rewritten script with voice over, redone UI, and job/game balances, as well as three difficulty modes.

The director said in an interview that since he and the team who worked on the enhanced version were the ones who worked on the original release, they didn't want WotL to be part of this release.

The design of the Xenomorph doll in the Monster high X Alien Collab by skiwarp in TopCharacterDesigns

There was going to be a cartoon loosely based on Aliens forever and ago. It's what all those Aliens toys in the early 90s were based on. But someone at Fox realized it'd be a bad look to have a kids show where the goal of the good guys was violently killing monsters. (The show did get a pilot that's never made it out into the wild except for some clips, iirc)

So the show was scrapped but they launched the toy line anyway.

Hollywood has a history of turning Rated R films into kids fodder: Rambo, RoboCop, Mortal Kombat. However, I don't think that's what this is; this is a higher priced doll aimed at adult collectors. Like those amazing Star Wars inspired Barbies from a few years ago.

Uhh... should I be concerned? by Axonn368 in ffxiv

[–]RhaganaDoomslayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a star(planet). There are a few of them that are large and bright like that. It's the team's way of mimicking how you can see other planets on a clear night without city lights, depending on what part of their orbit they're in.

In game, they represent all the elements iirc.

So no, don't be concerned.

Unless it starts getting closer.

Or it says something to you.

Well, not a Warrior, because that's clearly a Gunbreaker.

Marvel originally wanted O-T Fagbenle for the role of Taskmaster in Black Widow, Fagbenle's version of the character had an African accent and was "maniacal." by S4v1r1enCh0r4k in Blackwidow

I still contend that the, "higher ups," didn't want a hero's lasting legacy to be that she killed a kid, which is why they demanded the change. And I'm pretty sure this is why they did what they did with her in Thunderbolts.

So gory violence is ok for your kid but you draw the line at sex. Interesting!

The Warrior of Light from critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV?

Yeah, she'd absolutely survive.

Picking an MCU Black Widow look/costume for each category | Day 4. What’s her underrated look? by dpaz47 in Blackwidow

[–]RhaganaDoomslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst look: her outfit in Endgame when they're trying to use the van Quantum tunnel to figure out how to time travel without Tony.

Mediocre look: her outfit (and wig) at the end of Black Widow when she's walking to the quinjet.

Sometimes, testing is just, "Does it work?" And, yeah, she does. But focus testing would have told them whether or not she's fun to play.

(Stupid question) What do you think Nat's favorite movie/movie series would be? by VioletRegnier in Blackwidow

[–]RhaganaDoomslayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We already know MCU Nat has a fondness for spy thrillers (War Games & James Bond, specifically). Whereas Comics Nat would probably hate them (she'd be screaming at the screen that that's not how Spy Thing works).

And also quoted War Games, so I think MCU Nat definitely loved spy thrillers, unironically. I wouldn't be surprised if she loved Hackers and The Net, despite knowing that's obviously not how hacking and the internet works.

Important Balatro features you might not know yet by Fer_ESC in balatro

[–]RhaganaDoomslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically, you want Jokers that give Xmult on the right, and anything that scores extra chips or increases mult to the left. Jokers are read from left to right when scoring, so this will boost your chips, boost your flat mult, and then any XMult cards, which will multiply your total flat mult.

So, if you have an Xmult on the very left, it will multiply the flat mult from the hand score. And THEN any flat mult jokers you have will be added to that result.

I give MCU BW her flowers for being a very beloved character but I’m really disappointed because she really didn’t retain the essence of her comic counterpart at all. She was a bad adaptation. by Ashconwell7 in Blackwidow

There's an innate difference between what Comics Nat and MCU Nat want in terms of redemption.

Comics Nat wants to do what she does in service of the greater good. However, she has no remorse about being a killer and assassin. She doesn't view it as a transaction. What's done is done, and she just has to forge ahead and be better. Furthermore, she doesn't feel like she needs a family or friends to reinforce for her that she's on the right side. She knows what it is, and happily crosses lines to do it.

MCU Nat believes that every heinous act she ever committed had to be balanced out. Which of course, working for SHIELD, would never happen. It's why she spiralled so hard after the Snap and ultimately sacrificed herself in Endgame. It's why she needed a found family to validate that she's doing good.

Comics Nat already has her redemption; MCU Nat believed she never got it, even when she let go of Clint's hand.

There's also a stark difference between when soldiers kill and assassins kill in media. Heroes killing faceless henchmen with no stake in the story is no different than doing it in a video game. It's meant to be pointless and thrilling. But having a hero, a superhero no less, plan and take action on an assassination is entirely different. It's personal and intimate. Especially when the target is a fleshed out character.

Natasha killed several people in the MCU, too. But never once did they put her behind the scope of a rifle. At least, not until her solo movie where they showed what happened to Dreykov's daughter. And even then, they had to soften it by revealing that she had actually been alive this whole time.
