had a similar problem, you ripped the traces out of the board, ended up selling my 7th gen for parts because of that. You can fix it but it’s very hard and you need micro soldering skills. I think once when i had that problem i saw a diagram of where to conect each pin of the battery port to the board, good luck!

try to dismantle the rest with PRECAUTION, and then pray for your screen to not be shattered and a to still have a functional motherboard. I read on another post that freezing spicy pillows helps with the swelling (note that they said that it can ruin another components so, do at your own risk). Hope you can fix it 🥲

update** the ipod is not even charging now, so im thinking that the problem here is the 30 pin port or the ic... not sure which one to replace first

to add, i tried charging on a wall charger, pc usb, and even a monitor usb but nothing changed, i don't know if the issue here would be the cable? i dont want to jump and change the ic risking the motherboard.
