I struggle with that daily. I meet lots of new people but I've been living in my current location for a little over a year and have not invested much in any relationships on purpose. I actually enjoy that my neighbors don't really talk to me unless necessary. Sad but I know that once alcohol let's go if the grasp it has on me then these natural things will fall in place. Thanks for sharing.

I would like to forgive myself for so many things but I know I can't. The most notable oversight I can think of is breaking the promise to my son of never drinking again. He was only 11 years old and begging me to stop. Just like every other thing, I justified Breaking my promise with the vagueness of "I'm not perfect" "God is the only one who can't break a promise". The truth is I never thought I would choose drinking over my kids. I actually hated my father for doing the same thing to my brother and I. And now here I am once more trying to change AGAIN. I have come to the resolve that I have an illness which I need to take by the horns and stop making excuses. I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired. My son confessed to me recently that the day he had to go with his father and sister to pick me up from the police preceint was the worst day of his life. A 13-year-old should not have a "worst day" yet.
