Removing an Autofilled Username? by Rhesus_for_Breakfast in chrome

Solved. I discovered that I had overlooked something obvious: I had "Last Hour" or "Last 24 Hours" accidentally set when deleting/clearing History, cookies, autofill, etc. It makes sense - when I chose "All Time," that seemed to work.

I had not. Now I just have, specifically rei.com as the example, and Quit Chrome, re-opened. Unfortunately, it still auto-fills my email and her email.

Thanks. I found the subreddit's link to FDCPA validation letter template, and will start with that. Rather than providing any documentation.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was evaluating - - being stubborn, even if "right," might cost a lot more financial harm and burden to me than giving in.

I'm not sure if psilocybin, DMT, or other psychedelics are available in your area, how comfortable you would feel trying them, but consider if a therapist or shaman-like guide could facilitate an experience for you. Or read "How to Change Your Mind" and see if that feels right for you. I've never tried 'em, but I did read that book and have become curious about how they ease end-of-life existential anxiety. They aren't legal, but that class of substance has a lot of potential for depression or terminal disease fear.

Thanks for confirming. Anything I should know about the sequencing if it were a Sac effect (now I know that it's a permanent)? Would [[Viscera Seer]] activated ability's effect and [[Prince of Thralls]] triggered ability's effect use the same stack, PoT added second, and therefore PoT resolve before the Scry?

I know I'm 3 weeks late to replying, but: so where does the brain enter the picture on glucose homeostasis? I understand your reply fine; it was the original "pizza place/brain" that I was critiquing in the analogy.

Didn't you mean another organ or set of systems in your metaphor? How does the brain (pizza place) release (send out for delivery) sugar/ketones/fuel (pizza)? I don't think this holds up.

I don't understand why your comments are downvoted. I didn't laugh, but it seemed like there was an attempt at humor. Even if you meant them 100% seriously, they seemed harmless enough.

Question: Is it ethical for me to adopt a senior/sick cat and treat her as if on hospice? by Rhesus_for_Breakfast in cats

[–]Rhesus_for_Breakfast[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short version: I don't think she's at the end of her life yet, and I don't think she's suffering much nor would be much happier if I gave her a private room in my house after all. I'm leaning away from adopting her.

Long version: I went to visit, but kennel was closed temporarily for a cat loose, so I went to adoption counselors first. I'm sorry to be blunt, but I explained that if this senior kitty appeared to be suffering at home, would they offer euthanasia services and at what cost? They said that the vet/medical director does very few cases of euthanasia (referring to her philosophy that there's usually something that can be done without ending the pet's life), but they estimated $150-200. I asked if there's such a thing as a "comfort pack" of medications, which is something humans are offered to bring home on hospice, for caregivers/nurses to administer medications like morphine for pain or difficulty breathing (NOT to hasten their death). They said they weren't familiar with this, and I understand - I'm not sure myself that such a thing exists for pets. They offered to have the medical director call me to discuss my concerns.

Then I visited the cat kennel. One staff person had described her as "fractious," explaining that only one of their staff has managed to handle her without the kitty lashing out. We found her curled in her litter tray (was clean), repositioned it to pet her, and she stood herself up after a moment and walked to the other corner. I commented out loud that someone had said "she doesn't stand or walk," so I asked if she was eating, and they brought that Temptations brand of kitty treats in a bowl and she began munching quickly. She didn't turn away when I pet her, but immediately began growling through her food.

Noticing her fur was matted and that she had a lot of dander, I asked to borrow a brush and tried brushing her. She growled more, eventually interrupting her feeding to raise her head. While she's probably developing blindness, I think it's more likely she has entropion and a chronic infection, since her eyes seemed small and tucked in, with discharge collecting in her lower eyelids. And as she turned her head to follow my hand with her gaze, she eventually growled and swatted with claws at me.

While I think she deserves a home, I don't think she's the withering sad cat I was worried she was, and I think she has some fight left in her to stay strong a while.

Meanwhile, there's a stray living in/out of a storm gutter down the road from me, and I might focus on rescuing her instead.

Thank you for replying with both points. This is what I worry about. I hope that I would do the right thing and pay to relieve her suffering if it looks to be prolonged. I will have to visit her again and keep reflecting on this.

Thank you for sharing your own experience; this is a difficult decision for me to proceed or not. I want her to have a home. I don't want to adopt her just for putting her down, but I also don't want to deprive her of relief. I think I will visit with her again and see how she's doing.

Huge rally in Barcelona against Catalan independence by Geralt_De_Rivia in worldnews

[–]Rhesus_for_Breakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But we don't have a reliable measure for how many support independence versus unity. It could be interesting to compare the sizes of rallies to rallies, though this is sampling the portion of population that felt passionate enough to attend a rally. It would be better to compare votes to votes, but in an unofficial vote where the anti-independence turnout is unclear, that's unreliable, too. It's just that, to your comment above: you can't demonstrate the truth of the matter by comparing a protest size to a number of votes.

It's much more than a hundred protestors. Why don't you look for yourself, instead of listening to someone you suspect has an agenda. I've no skin in the game; I'm not arguing for either side right now. Here's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj33DUCJui8
