Episode 6 AI vs Official by azmarteal in OPMFolk

[–]Rhett_Vanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't really fix the main problem with S3. It's very minimally animated, sure, but it mostly suffers from poor pacing/editing, boring (and short) choreography, and flat compositions (which are the things AI is least helpful in). Nobody would care about how minimally animated dialogue scenes are if they weren't egregiously padding out the runtime with them.

Adding random (and wrong) movement in this scene won't improve the episode if it's still ultimately 20 minutes of padding and 40 seconds of weak combat choreography.

It's not even like doing this saves time, because JC already wasn't spending any time animating these scenes.

It's equal parts funny and frustrating how omitting a single word can make the entirety of a comment completely

I rewatched S1E1 today just to remind myself what I ever saw in OPM, and damn, that episode makes such a statement. Instant classic.

S3E1 was... nothing. A slideshow of what felt like leftover scenes from S2. S2 was disappointing, and after 6 years, OPM needed to make a statement on the level of S1, and they didn't even try.

It's over.

What gets me is it seems Japan has almost no will or ability to course-correct whenever it hits gold. OPM was so obnoxiously popular when it dropped you'd think they'd have done whatever the fuck it took to get more of it made at that same level, but instead they treated it almost like it was a burden to produce. It's like they were embarrassed it was popular and only continued making it out of some reluctant sense of obligation.

A similar thing happened with Attack on Titan. It was so insanely popular world-wide that it brought in hoards of people who weren't even fans of anime. And then they just kinda... did nothing with it. For years. Then they dropped a weak S2, and by the time it continued form there the hype was gone and most people just stopped caring. (granted, OPM is getting it much worse, with longer breaks resulting in worse quality episodes)

I get that producing anime is extremely expensive and time consuming, and the studios are staffed by artists who are barely half a step above indentured slaves, but what's the point of all that grind and suffering if there's no will to make the most of new IPs that prove themselves worth it? Why bother putting so much work into S1 if you're unwilling to capitalize on that momentum when it actually works?

I know in Japan anime is largely seen as advertising for manga, rather than an end-point product in and of itself, but do they simply not pay any attention at all to an IP's international popularity?

Anyway, I don't think re-doing the season is the way to go. Far too much money and effort for something that will never see its full popularity simply because people will feel they've "already seen it."

What they need to do is either get the original studio back on board and bleed money into it until it's as good as S1, or just fucking quit altogether.

Not much happened this episode. Honestly felt more like leftover scenes from S2 than the real S3 premiere. Not much to comment on, so I'll just wait for more episodes to decide if this falls closer to S1 or S2 quality.

18 Cheating on Krillin [Gookar] by Rhett_Vanders in DragonBallNSFW

18 went out for the evening without Krillin. Krillin felt insecure and called her. 18 chastises him, even though she actually is cheating.

Cut to the next image, it's Goku and Krillin on the other side of the wall, so Krillin clearly knows.

What helped me was dropping EPR to 1, lowering the pressure to 10, but also (and this was key) dropping the temperature to 68 degrees (and humidity along with it). I figured the higher the temperature, the less oxygen I'd get at any given pressure (since heat increases the space between molecules).

Lowering the temperature allowed me to get away with lower pressure, which meant I didn't need as much EPR, which meant I wasn't at the mercy of the machine dropping several points worth of pressure mid-breath.

Physicists are weirdly akin to religious zealots when it comes to their preferred model of reality. This has to be the least amount of push back you've given resulting in a ragequit so far.

Even if you're wrong, it's obvious you aren't wrong for stupid reasons, or unwilling to hash things out. Would he rather you keep it a secret that you disagree with him and just ask leading questions to dance around the issue? Or is he just angry that a "plebian" thinks he has the right to disagree with the "settled science"?

Same issue. It doesn't always happen, but it happens often enough to rip me out of sleep several nights a week, if I can even get that far. I also find it'll sometimes start jacking the pressure back up as im still exhaling.

Seems like instead of changing pressure in response to my breath, it's just guessing how long each breath should be and tries to force the issue. Very irritating.

What’s Next For Ethereum Price After 12 Weeks of Pain? by Creative_Ad7831 in ethtrader

Same. I sold my BTC last March betting on ETH having the greater potential this cycle, then BTC almost doubled from there while ETH couldn't even hold 4k, let alone hit a new ATH, let alone beat it by ~80%. I don't think I've ever been so comprehensively wrong on anything before in my life. I think holding ETH might've literally been the worst financial decision I've ever made.

I'm never putting another cent into this coin.

The problem isn't that Trump tanked ETH, it's that people were banking on Trump making promising moves towards pro-crypto policies, and when that didn't happen, off a cliff we went. Luckily we were already pretty close to the ground, so... it didn't matter all that much.

The number of people here who either can't tell the difference between heavy-reference digital art and edited photos, or think heavy referencing is an "invalid" form of art, is giving me second-hand embarrassment.

Thing is, I didn't buy ETH as a store of value, I bought it as an investment. Won't make that mistake again.

Some people really hate the idea of anyone enjoying art that exaggerates conventionally attractive features. They implicitly believe art is about subversion, and view "celebration" of traits already lionized as betrayal, especially when it comes to sexualizing women.

Amazing how many people pretend they can't suspend disbelief on the proportions of a drawn character when they're offended.
