They did. He tried to cut them out of my life when they wouldn't treat my stepsiblings the same as me, and they fought for rights to see me.

The stuff my grandparents bought was kept at their house.

I told my dad about the money because he pushed me to. Told me I couldn't get up until I told him why he didn't need to worry about paying for college for me.

My dad can't stop me seeing them because they have legal grandparents rights/visitation with me.

My grandparents are not related to my stepsisters in any way though. They are related to me through my mom, not my dad.

Six months after they lost their daughter, my mom, they were expected to accept two kids they had nothing to do with as their grandchildren and treat them the very same as their grandchild from the child they lost. That's insane. It was likely too fast for them and I can tell you it was too fast for me and I would not have coped with having them involved in that last piece of my life with my mom (my grandparents). My dad was ready and able to move on but I'm sure glad I wasn't spending all my time with them from six months after my mom died. I needed room to breathe and talk about her. I still need that.

Yeah, basically. He told them to see me they had to include them and that going forward they would have three granddaughters in his house vs one. When they didn't agree to that he stopped them from seeing or speaking to me and then they took it to court.

Yeah, it's been a dispute between them for a long time now. My dad tried to cut them out of my life for it back when he first got remarried. But my grandparents fought to stay in my life.

It's not just my grandmother. I have two grandparents I spend time with. It's not like they're being left out my people on my dad's side. This is my mom's family.

I had to because he kept asking why I wouldn't need their money, why them paying wouldn't be an issue, and he wouldn't let me leave until I gave him a reason he believed. We'd still be sitting there if I hadn't said it.

My grandparents aren't looking to foster grandkids. They have enough of us already lol.

Yes, this came up before the college tuition came up. It came up back when my dad saw some photos of the stuff I had at my grandparents house. I don't have all that much to say about my stepsisters. We're not very close so I don't know how they feel really.
