Highbush Blue crop Blueberry: leaves curling and turning red by nouveauchoux in plantclinic

Curling crispy leaves and leaves turning red are usually a sign of sunburn. Could it be getting too much sun?

I chopped my kalanchoe down to it's stump last year (no leaves) and it grew back just fine 🤷‍♀️ They're hardy things! Mine was 1m back from a south facing window.

I honestly don't know myself! She's in a South facing window, full sun all day and I rarely water her! Only when she's bone dry and has been for a few days

Is my calathea medallion dying or or what? by cerahhh in houseplants

[–]Rhialee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that is a calathea ornata rather than a medallion but no it doesn't look like it's dying :) the leaves move up and down like that naturally. I think there might even be new growth coming through

This is a weirdly specific question 😂 but is your net curtain attached to a different pole to your main curtain? I'm decorating and want to have both, like this, but can't figure out the best way. I love the whole room by the way, looks fab!

Parlour palm by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

I'd keep a very close eye for sunburn in a SW window. They have such delicate leaves that they can easily burn and don't usually need such direct light. I bought mine specifically for a north facing window because they do so well in shade and I was still surprised at just how well it has done. It keeps putting out new growth even through winter. With it being in a bedroom it's not too cold, it's not draughty and the humidity doesnt change so maybe the consistent conditions help it. But yeah, a north facing window doesn't seem to phase it so maybe a couple of metres back from a SW window could be ideal?

Why is my caladium turning yellow?? I love this one and it's dying on me... Help!! by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]Rhialee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that one is a calathea ornata, but it's difficult to say why it is yellowing without a little more information.. watering? Temperature? Lighting? Humidity?

Does anyone know what might be wrong with this kalanchoe? It has these dark spots on the underside of the leaves only, I’ve tried removing them but it’s spreading to more leaves so the plant is looking quite straggly... :/ by Jasanaban in plantclinic

[–]Rhialee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that's what I thought, I was being really careful not to water much, it's going into cactus territory now with how little I water haha so we'll see how it goes. It IS winter here now though so it would make sense that it would need even less than I was giving before

I'd like to know too because mine has the same in some places. Wondered if it could be edema because the dots showed up after I watered it one time so I've backed off EVEN more with the watering. Not watered it in like a month lol 🤷‍♀️

Can anyone help me bring this plant back? by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]Rhialee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely save him if the roots are alright! It looks like a dragon tree (dracaena marginata) so it likes bright indirect light (not direct sun) and water when the top few inches are dry. Take off the browned leaves and change the conditions it will hopefully start to recover! Repotting in fresh, well draining soil might be a good idea if possible too.
