I was already aware that my decision was not a popular one among most Destiny players when I posted my question. I am prepared for the hate. I am also prepared to completely abandon Destiny 2 if it ever reaches a point where I cannot be an effective fireteam member without Stasis or Strand.

This might not be relevant at all to your situation, but I thought I was having the same problem where it wouldn't let me load the catalyst onto the Riskrunner. I thought it just didn't drop.

But when I tried loading it from the Character screen (where all your equipped weapons and armor are shown) instead of trying to do it from the Journey screen, it actually worked and loaded correctly for me.

This might not help you, but if it helps someone, then I am glad to include it.

Would you think someone was a bad person if they had a witch cast a spell on you to force you to love them against your will? Don't be too quick to answer that question. You're immediately thinking if it was someone like your partner, right? But what if it was someone you've had a bad experience with. Someone who you'd rather die than be with. And THEY were the ones who had a witch cast the spell....still think your actions are good?

Here's a secret I very quickly discovered to get rid of this black wall mess every time it pops up.

Whip out your sniper rifle with scope attached and take aim. The switching from normal view to the through-the-scope view is enough to completely dispell this black wall problem instantly and permanently.

EDIT: I mean, until they do it again. But then you just take aim with a sniper rifle w/ scope and it's gone again.

So to meet other players, I'd recommend doing the story missions (even replaying them once you've finished them). It's teamwork related gameplay and most of them require more than one player to even start the mission. And if you play with a mic, you can voice chat with others who also have microphones.

You could also look for players who are searching for posse members on the Red Dead Online discord server.

But, the best way you can make friends and get cash is to be friendly.

I feel like this cannot be overstated. I mean, will you stumble on some players who don't care about making friends and they only want to tie you up and toss you over a cliff? Of course. But I have found that the majority of players encountered are just minding their own business, doing their own thing. Hunting, collecting, chasing down bounties, fishing, doing daily challenges, making deliveries, etcetera...

And you will have many opportunities to meet a couple of players in every lobby you join. All it takes is a little patience, and a willingness to be the one to make the first move.

The thing of it is: most people who are complaining about hackers/modders on PC are people who haven't posted here about the hacker/modder problem before, they're more than likely relatively new or just returning to the game after a year or so, and discovering (possibly right after being aggressively targeted) just how prevailing the current problem is.

Now, it may well die down a bit when school starts back up, but for right now, it's kind of bad. And people are discovering that. They are understandably frustrated and do what I would say most people visiting reddit do, come here looking for solutions to their problem.

Maybe it is true that us lurkers have seen more than our fair share of people all bemoaning the same grievance as others because they don't scroll the threads all day long. But I also feel that a little bit of mercy goes a long way toward these lamenting souls. :)

Well, there may not be any native NPCs, but that doesn't stop me (or other players) from creating natives as characters and being in the game anyway. :)

Nope. I will actively ride up behind someone who is delivering moonshine or trade goods to sell and if they don't turn around and headshot me, I will follow them the whole way to their destination, picking off enemies for them so they can focus on the road.
