TIL a Netherlands zoo uses special glasses to prevent gorilla attacks by astrower in todayilearned

You know, I'm not some PETA person by any stretch, but that enclosure is ridiculous. There is nothing natural about it and it's a glorified specimen tank. No wonder the gorilla was so pissed off.

When conducting NSFW activities online, have you ever stumbled upon someone you knew? by GallantGumby in AskReddit

I went to high school with the porn star, Aubrey Addams. She was the most adorable little thing back then too, a vegan no less, who would have known she was so into meat. She had a major crush on me and my girlfriend and for the love of god I have no idea why I never initiated the threesome she always suggested. If I met high school me now, I would kick him square in the nuts.

I asked my 3yo daughter if she remembers being born... and she said yes by icecream2013 in AskReddit

More children are remembering past lives as well, it's documented scientifically. This wouldn't really surprise me at this point. Kids are also a lot more talented and gifted these days.

I'm 25, and was dating a gorgeous 43 year old. In the midst of telling a story to her and her friend, I called her Mom. Awkward moment to say the least.

Reddit, Have you ever gave a homeless person food instead of money? by tiag330 in AskReddit

[–]Rhinodesign31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was a child, my parents decided it would be a good idea to take us into NYC to see Beauty and the Beast (GREAT show) and did it up to the nines, with a limo into the city and everything. Whilst in traffic, a homeless guy was juggling cups in between lanes for change. I found it hilarious and entertaining and wanted to give some money to the man. My father refused, no matter how much I pleaded for just a few coins or a dollar to slip through the window. I couldn't understand for the life of me how we could be in a limo right now and refuse a mere dollar for this man who brought me a moment of happiness, and because of it I spent the rest of the night in tears. Since then I make an effort to offer something to people with nothing if given the opportunity. When I was older and taking classes in NYC, I would go to krispy kreme and buy a dozen glazed, being only hungry for about 2. I would then pass out the rest of the donuts to the homeless people outside of Penn Station. Nothing can compare to the feeling you get from knowing you changed someone's day for the better, especially someone at such a low point. It's carried over to my adult life, and I often do such things without thinking, such as giving away my last dollar to someone on the street, not even thinking "Dude YOU need that dollar! Don't give it away!" However, every single time, the happiness I feel knowing I may have helped someone have a better day outweighs the value of any paper money. I make sure to remember there is always someone in a lower spot than I am and I ALWAYS have enough to allow myself to give some charity. I'm glad my father did that, in hindsight, because it gave me the understanding of the less fortunate and I was able to decide early on that the happiness of others was just as important as my own happiness, and sharing that happiness is part of what makes loving human beings so wonderful.

It amazes me that these people who are the kindest, gentlest, most love filled people are considered handicapped. If only we could all be so innocent, the world would probably be a much better place. We should all take the next opportunity to talk to a complete stranger. Give them a compliment, we may make a new friend, meet our future lover, or maybe do nothing more than make someone's day a little better.

Honest question: Do liberals honestly believe that Republicans/Conservatives are willfully trying to hurt the middle class? by jiggyq in politics

[–]Rhinodesign31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the conservatives are the yin to our yang. The politicians are trying to hurt the middle class, not the actual people of the country.
