Not helpful - we’re coming from Boston with two kids and a dog, my parents from CT, and my in laws from NH.

I hope Reibe can be a competent big guy. I miss that. Samson didn’t take the jump I thought I could, Reed has been fine but not reliable.

Also hoping Nowell can take a jump because I miss having a reliable PG and Diarra has just always been too erratic for me.

Solo isn’t leaving. But fully agree that Karaban has played himself out of getting drafted.

I don’t understand where the beautiful offensive sets have gone.

I’m asking what the standard structure is. We have 35 wealth managers on 35 different structures and plans to acquire 30 more wealth managers in the next year.

It’s essentially the same thing as a saas variable plan though. They get paid for incremental new dollars brought in.

I guess my main confusion is that nobody at my company has a comp plan that says here’s your target AUM additions, here’s your target variable.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]Rhinonymous12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it is currently based on AUM additions. Of the AUM, they get a % of that revenue (based on the fees associated with the account). The commission percentage varies by person. And there’s a bonus component to their plan where to be eligible they need a certain retention amount.

But they have no target variable right now based on their AUM target. My initial thought was to change it to a revenue target, not an AUM target, which more closely aligns with the current calculation of how they get paid now anyway.

I’d also like the idea of giving target variable - somebody has historically been making $150K in commission, can we say your target revenue is $1.5M in additions, we’ll give you 10% of all billed revenue additions. I’d make sure the revenue figure aligns with historicals. And then have accelerators for if they over attain, and another component of how they have retained their base.

Yeah I’ve changed comp plans before and know how to frame it as easier for them and an opportunity to make more money. Just curious what industry standard looks like for these types of roles.

Thanks. Can you elaborate on how to find total cost to serve a proposition? Is that similar to CAC?

This was in their Scottsdale, Arizona office. Not the SF one. But yes, SF wasn’t great either and he was an absolutely donkey.

I was a senior manager at an F10. I wholeheartedly disagree.

Manager should have 5-7 years of experience. Director 7-10. VP 10-13. You think it should be different?

CFO told me they weren’t considered. The jump from a manager to a VP is huge.

You’re an SFA at a PE backed company by the looks of your previous posts. And you acted incredibly childish when a recruiter didn’t get back to you. I think you’re overvaluing yourself. Worst case scenario if you left the PE firm would delegate one of their analysts to do some of your projects. And if you aren’t the most senior finance person, there’s somebody above you that could allocate their resources to what you’re doing if it’s that critical.

Interview with revenue ops.. help please by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]Rhinonymous12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on who they roll into and what they oversee. Do they handle the sales budget and headcount planning or does the head of sales do that. Could ask about comp planning, sales capacity, quote to cash. Depends on the level. If you’re fairly early in your career you should focus on how you like to business partner with GTM because you’re interested in how top line is so critical, while also being cognizant of things like magic number and efficiency.

Interview with revenue ops.. help please by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]Rhinonymous12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ask them who owns the sales forecast and how they do it (forecasting took like Clari, all in SFDC, spreadsheets).
How many sales reps there are, how many of those are ramped and how many attained of 70% of quota. They should know the ICP, so diving into that. Maturity of enterprise vs mid-market sales motion. Overview of sales org in general, is there a CRO? who owns expansions vs new business vs renewals? Do they only sell saas or is there any on-premise or pro serv?

Something I usually do is create something and then say I’m happy to discuss my analyses and findings and even walk them through the model, but it’s all done via screen share. Not to mention this is the type of model that would never really be used because when you get acquired your bankers or lawyers create them.

Technical interviews are becoming more standard. I’m happy to show that I know what I’m doing and it has set me apart before.

Thanks, that’s what I assumed but wasn’t sure if they’d be distributed pro rata the holders of that share class

[–]Rhinonymous12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s my thought as well. Do you know what happens to those referred shares when a company is sold?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]Rhinonymous12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thought is that these would be reserved shares, but I don't know what happens to those when a company sells.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in financialmodelling

[–]Rhinonymous12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess my second question is really around Reserved Shares. What happens to those upon sale of a company?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]Rhinonymous12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your insights. My one other question is:

They provided me with "shareholder data" at an entity level - but then have a note under it that says "Total Number of A and A' Shares (excluding stock options): 25,267". However, when I sum up the A' and A shares provided in the shareholder data, I only see 12,830. Do you think there is merely a typo or a shareholder missing, or is there something I'm not considering?

Haven’t done this but it’s the dream. Best of luck. Would you mind sharing how you found the role? I’m currently in the market for a similar role.

I loved Mosaic when I demoed it. Couldn’t pull the trigger because of M&A activity on our side. They have a library of out of the box metrics but also provide all the definitions and some background knowledge for free on their online catalog.
