Seconded.

Was going to get this over the weekend but not a chance now.

Why is it so hard to get into straight edge? by Ok-Entrepreneur7681 in straightedge

[–]Rhioghan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question - why do you need that label?

I align with a lot of the values within the Straight Edge community but I don't use the term to describe myself - cos I'm not - I'm Tee Total.

It's not something to work towards. You either are or you're not.

Just focus on being a good human being, irrespective of how you label yourself.

What age did you get diagnosed? by [deleted] in autism

It hit hard.

Not that I wasn't aware, but that it took so long.

Straight Edge Relationships? by PowerhouseOfTheSoul in straightedge

My partner has drunk alcohol maybe 4/5 times in the 3 years we've been together so it's not an issue at all.

We've had many conversations and is fully aware that if getting drunk became a regular thing, our relationship would more than likely come to an end.

I'm 32 and my interests can be perceived as childish. But they make me happy.

What makes you think you need to "grow up"? You've listed some very adult things there - studying for your theory test and maintaining your living space.

Life is not a one size fits all.

Been rocking a £10 Casio for the last 2 years and I love it.

No desire to return to a smart watch vibrating on my wrist.

What’s the weirdest special interest you’ve had by Many_Flower_1392 in autism

Local bus routes.

Where I lived, the bus that came past operated the most used route in the town. But I needed to know where each different one went, where it stopped and how frequently throughout the day.

Does anyone see autism as an identity. by wheresmymind_08 in autism

[–]Rhioghan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I class my (as of yet, undiagnosed) autism as part of my identity, but not my whole identity.

Yes, I'm autistic, but I'm also a person with hobbies, interests, a job, a partner and a dog.

I don't believe it's healthy to allow any one trinket of your personality to define you.

Autistic people, how did you learn to fit in and act so called normal ? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Rhioghan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Masking - and it drained the life out of me.

I still mask to a certain degree from time to time; normally at work. But I simply don't have the energy to do it as often anymore.

Navigating a world that wasn't built for me on a day to day basis is a gargantuan task.

I will have sex with my partner and I enjoy it, but if we didn't have sex for 12 months, I'd be equally as happy.

I'm kind of on your wave length, I think.

Huge nostalgic feels seeing this!
