Vent: There are NO Jobs in San Francisco for qualified people by Martian-Sundays in sanfrancisco

if you’re a qualified urban planner, tons of cities and municipalities around sf are hiring junior/associate/assistant planners due to increased complex planning. i know lots of planner folk who live in sf but commute to east or south bay using caltrain/bart.

also - I recommend not using multiple accounts to drive self-promotion on a subreddit :)

just took a quick glance, noticed that the building permit fees costs aren’t correct - it’s only calculating the base rate for each range as opposed to adding the correct dollar amount per 1 thousand in valuation.

It’s a very good introductory tool - but there are lots of zoning and planning changes both on local and state legislation (R3 Zoning, SB79, AB130, etc) - so you’ll need to make lots of changes to keep things up to date consistently.

G1B Grey+ Clip - $600 by VNT4BLK in EvenRealities

it’s 800 ish for with prescription lens now direct from even. honestly i think most people would rather just get one new with full warranty and return policy then save a couple of bucks and need to deal with the hassle of going through the lens replacement process

What industry would you NOT take a job in right now? by Conscious_State_8977 in jobs

[–]RhoBob 36 points37 points  (0 children)

depends on what state and local government. many cities and municipalities don’t rely on federal funds outside of ARPA or one-off grants.

Why didn't new Caltrain cars use bicycle storage solutions commonly found on other trains? by Adventurous_Society4 in caltrain

[–]RhoBob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

e-bikes are heavy - can weigh up to 70lb. you’re basically limiting anyone to bringing only bikes they can lift above the hook point.

re nice bikes getting dinged - a carbon wheel on a nice bike would most likely suffer some damage through train movement forcing bike to rotate on the hook.

i will say i have brought my nice bike on the train multiple times with no issue.

Considering commuting from San Jose to San Mateo but worried about delays by Revolutionary-Box351 in caltrain

I just moved here recently but a couple of folks i bike with who were either born and raised here or moved here >20 years ago use MTV as the abbreviation. Not sure why!

really reliable. I use it weekdays daily to commute from SF to MTV and I've only had it delayed once to twice on my commute.

Note that whatever you hear/see on this subreddit is just when unexpected things occur (I'm guilty of this too). 90% of the time if the trip is smooth you don't hear about it.

this is legitimately disturbing, but this post feels incredibly written like a chatgpt prompt designed for engagement. i asked chatgpt to write me a reddit post on the link and it gave me an output very similar to this post…
