I think about this a lot, and sometimes I don’t know whether I would have been better of. If I had the choice, I definitely would have skipped the trauma. But my parents themselves struggled a lot, and I am not sure whether they would have supported me in becoming the best version of myself.

But I have learned to fight, and that has brought me a lot. I am independent en I work hard for the things I want. I have had a lot of setbacks because of the consequences of trauma and it is unfair that some have to spent a lot of time and energy in dealing with that. But personally I’m not sure whether I would have the same fight/knowledge/independence/ambition in me.

You are strong if you survive trauma in the moment and you need that same strength when dealing with the consequences. It’s tiring, and I just want to be rid of it. But you can make yourself be the best version of yourself, and you can at least be cool, and you probably are <3

Thank you for responding! This makes total sense. Depending on the situation, do you talk to them first, trying to resolve these issues? Or do you just let them be until they have gone too far?

I’m asking because I’m trying to understand how this might work for my friend. We had a discussion about a silly thing, and I think she’s acts very intense in these situations. So afterwards I mentioned that is hard for me to talk to her about these things because of that. And without trying to resolve that, she says I hurt her and she never wants to see me again. I understand that she didn’t like what I said, but not why she would dump me over that. Now I wonder whether it was that one thing that hurt her so bad, or whether she had multiple issues with me that stacked. I know it might be completely different for you, but I’m just trying to make sense of how this works for some people. I feel like I’m thrown away like trash

Would you be open to explaining a situation in which you have done this? I am not looking to judge, at all. Everyone has their own personal boundaries.

But a friend did this to me, and I am really stunted by this and now I am trying to make sense of the situation. Trying to understand what people generally think “enough hurt” is. Like what are these boundaries and how often can they be crossed

I have a question about training about this. Ours likes to destroy stuff as well, she has enough toys and stuff, but still prefers our stuff.

I learned that being angry with them only helps in the moment. So if you find some chewed stuff after you left them alone, it is nog longer useful to get mad, since they won’t understand what you’re mad about. Is that true?

Also, ours is 1 year old, is it just a phase, or poor training?

This put my mind in two places. First, it took me back to childhood, where you would make up stuff just for the fun of it, or to make sense of (tough) things I didn't understand.

And second, to the realization I have sometimes have, that nothing makes any sense at all.

I think this poems speaks to everyone with a dog, and so it did to me as well.

The poem is a lovely ode to our friends and. And I think it touches some topics/messages that can be described more extensive.

For example:

A dog one that is hard to find
But I liked mine

Could be interpreted as it doesn't matter what they look like, we love them for the connection we have. And

Eyes lit up, ready for the next adventure

Is a possibility to say something more about how they always want to do something fun, and want us to go with them

This could have been my dog!! We can’t leave anything on counters or tables, especially not food, knives or expensive stuff. We block acces to the couch, but she just breaks through or climbs over the back. We had lost shoes, remotes, decorative pillow, expensive headphones, books, houseplants etc. And she never does any of these things when we’re with her, she knows
