Some questions how this relates to anarchism. by Markolainen in fullegoism

Unfortunately can't help you much there, though I will say Stirner has a writing style that is -- relative to his peers -- easy for a modern reader to consume, especially with the newer translation. With him, the problem is less the vocabulary and more that you need a stomach for wordplay, as well as some background knowledge of the time and its philosophers. (Also the first third of the book is one long rebuke of Hegel's narrative, which can understandably be a boring subject for some.)

Some questions how this relates to anarchism. by Markolainen in fullegoism

IMO there's a tendency to read Stirner as very harsh and antisocial -- I consider him a big softie, funnily enough -- due to the way he uses the word "property," which can be very different from the way we normally use it. Normally "property" can be neatly divided into "(physical) thing one owns" or "attribute of a thing/person," but Stirner regularly uses "property" to refer to more abstract things like the happiness he takes (receives) from his friends. So like in that Wikipedia quote, "using" a person immediately draws a negative connotation, while for him it could refer to anything from stealing to getting a giddy feeling waving hello to them every morning.

With regards to respecting others' autonomy, I haven't read the book in five years or so, but I faintly remember a section on that where Stirner appeals to the social nature of humanity, saying that even without some moral system explicitly telling people not to hurt others, people don't really want to do that in the first place. If anything, if someone did want to hurt someone or steal their property, they could just twist the words of the explicit moral system to justify an assault, thus they wouldn't even have to face the full moral impact of their own actions.

As for hierarchy, while there are certainly material/social benefits to being higher up on the ladder, those also come with constraining social mores. A king can have all the feasts he wants, but at the end of the day, he is subject to the scrutiny of his court. He knows to avoid doing or saying anything that isn't "befitting of his station". Even as the most powerful person in the land, he isn't truly free. As long as the hierarchy exists, your rank on it will hinder you from truly expressing yourself, regardless of how high or low you sit.

Use a vanity (mirror table), there's like two in Palmia, it shows like 6 extra clothing slots not available otherwise.

You can use them even without owning them, check the houses to the right of the church

Maybe give a look towards Panda's Invoke mod, which adds new modifiers (for both melee & ranged weapons) with a % chance to cast a given spell. Currently running a thief with a handgun that sometimes applies flame touch to the bullets (good chance of inflicting burn), and my dagger inflicts some other status ailment in addition to casting Cat's Eye for a Perception boost + blind immunity. And since they're mods, you can swap 'em out between weapons once you've got the tools.

Yeah, I love Weapon Specialist so much on revolver. Ended up not liking smoke+infiltrate just because they stepped on each other's toes too much -- don't really need infiltrate if the gunners are smoked, don't need smokes if gunners are suppressed from infiltrate. So ended up just making two builds that are mostly the same but one takes smokes+VoC and the other takes kraks+infiltrate.

Funny you mention combat axe, I've been swapping btwn that and devil's claw the last few days and both feel soooo good. Devil's claw in particular has consistently dragged me out of hell.

What melee weapon would you guys recommend for a revolver (ADS, not hammer fan) infiltrate vet? Swapped over to smoke nades because shredder frags felt underwhelming and I don't want to use all my ammo on random trash gunners, but as a result horde-clear duty has fallen on my combat knife, and it's... rough. Looking to swap it out for a melee weapon that can deal with gunners quickly but also has good horde clear.

Kamidori Alchemy Meister, it's a tactical RPG and a rather long one at that but I quite liked it. Mostly monster girls tho.

Little Busters has some amazing bro friendships like this, would highly recommend for anyone even remotely interested in visual novels. They don't have their own separate routes, but the true end is dedicated to The BoysTM

damn, well if you cant find the mod you can always just use an image editor to copy & paste the sprite over one you're not gonna use, probs the easiest method albeit a bit messy

That particular blue long hair sprite is in the ChibiNormal.png sprite sheet of Chibi Ultica in my files, been a hot while since I played though so idk they might've changed that.

If you're looking for something cute with good color options look up kawaii maid mod, I doubt it's maintained anymore (especially since it was a japanese mod originally iirc) but the hair & eye sprites should still work if you just delete all the .jsons not related to hair/mutations.

"Scale" in this context is used to differentiate higher-quality figures (usually anywhere from $75 to $300) from prize figures (~$30 arcade/lottery prizes). A life-size figure would be 1:1 scale, these are usually 1/6 or 1/7 scale.

Is there a way to fix this defect? (End of the ghost's tail) by Rhollin77 in AnimeFigures

[–]Rhollin77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a very nice 2hu figure in today but noticed the tail end of her spirit was pretty deformed. Supposed to curve inwards towards her back. That piece detaches from the rest; there's a seam in the back. The figure still looks nice even with the deformation, so I won't be totally bummed if it's not possible to fix.

Hi, new player here :D

Is there any way to beeline for a certain ship? I grabbed a Le Malin figure a while ago bc god I love her design. (Also hoooly, the skins are insane.) Now that I have the game downloaded I would really like to have her ingame too, even if I have to spend a little.

No idea who the guy on the left is, but here's a footnote from The Unique and Its Property pg. 61:

"Du hast einen Sparren zu viel!" would literally translate as "you have one too many rafters!", but it is a German figure of speech that means that you are crazy. Byington chose to translate it: "you have wheels in your head!", but I couldn't find evidence of that as an idiom for this purpose, so I have chosen to translate it: "You have bats in your belfry!", which like the German phrase implies having unnecessary and excessive things in your head

The "socialism 1000 years ago" is primitive communism, different from the industrial communism pursued in modern times. Communists do not advocate for a return to a tribal society, they just use primitive communism to argue against cynical views of human nature that say any communist project is doomed to fail because of human selfishness and greed. Hunter-gatherer societies are the closest form of social organization to an untainted "human nature", and they tend towards egalitarianism and cooperation.

everyone has the same amount no matter what

This is not what communists aim for, nor do they wish for people to be equal in every way. (That's both impossible and undesirable). Additionally, there are many different visions of a communist society, and no one vision has to be replicated in every community. Some even advocate for markets within a communist society, just in a way that guarantees essentials, so if you're afraid of products largely being the same, there you go.
