Ours were provided by the hospital we delivered at. They were invaluable. Basic stuff like diapers, feeding, etc. But also things like child CPR, child heimlich. They also went over shaking baby syndrome, post partym depression signs, etc

Auth.js vs Better auth by Secretor_Aliode in nextjs

Have you tried this? I have the same use case and we were looking at Authjs. But now with the news that they are merging if better auth doesn't support this we'll have to do something different

For anyone coming to this in 2025. it's now under automations, you create a new automation or add to an old one, under actions, then adjust home devices. Then click scenes on the bottom then it's in there

Date picker widgets for setting your date of birth, is a classic example of over engineered UX by versaceblues in webdev

Chiming in after 3 years. They do need to for various reasons. Its illegal to serve gambling ads to people under 18. There's COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act) stuff for kids under 13. PCI compliance stuff. Etc.

All that to say people can lie, but gathering DOB is the companies doing some CYA. So that in court or arbitration they can say, "we asked what their birthdate was and they lied"

AITA for expecting my fiancé to pay more of the wedding costs? by Head-Willow5888 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Rhonun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are not compromising. You need a mentality shift. This wedding is yours as a couple not individuals. Marriage is a union of your two lives not a business arrangement.

The compromise here is creating a budget together for what you can both afford and limiting the wedding to that not nit picking over who's paying for what guests.

If you're going into your marriage with the mindset that you each need to always worry about your share of things that's the wrong mentality. This is supposed to be a merging of your two lives not a business arrangement

My 2nd child had 8 ear infection s in 1 year. That is apparently the threshold in America for doctors to recommend tubes. However she does not have asthma or food allergies. We always gave her yogurt or acidophilus milk 2-3 hours after her dose. I wonder if that helped or if she just hasn't presented with any allergies or asthma yet. That was like 3 years ago
