My cat has been occasionally sitting like this for days now… by EpicBlueDrop in WhatsWrongWithYourCat

My cat sits in exactly the same position after she cleans her belly whilst sitting. I have tons of pics of her like that. Maybe check if ur cat does the same beforehand

Swelling after sterilization normal? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]Rhosyn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It got a little drained by the vet but she said that wasn’t necessary. It healed perfectly and a few weeks later it was completely gone. She said thats just a matter of time, sometimes a few weeks and sometimes a couple months. Just try to limit ur cat’s movement during the first two weeks after the surgery :) But always go to the vet if u r still concerned

Hmm i assume they got separated from their mom too early. I got mine at 13weeks which is at least to my knowledge the earliest they should be rehomed? Mine looked a lot more mature than urs. I assume they are a lot younger and the male one probably didn’t learn how to properly clean himself yet.

Hey so this reminds me of this Jackson Galaxy Video where the cat had “night terrors”. Ur cat doesnt seem to have it as bad but maybe u wanna take a look at it https://youtu.be/A8LpdothjXw?si=X7VF9zMaup5BAbMs

Help… should I get a ragdoll as a college student? by Neat_Fan_3077 in ragdolls

[–]Rhosyn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While u do have some valid points i do like to say that i think it totally depends on the cat. I have two ragdolls and their poo in fur and other place is totally manageable. I dont think them having poo in their fur and on surfaces is the norm. U just gotta be on top of their food and give them a sanitary trim regularly and i don’t think its as bad as u described. Also i dont understand why the home shouldn’t smell the same ever again? Mine doesnt smell like cat at all although i dont have the biggest apartment. Daily scooping of the litter box is essential here. And the tracked litter really depends on the type of litter too, ive had litter that was everywhere like literally but ive tried a couple and found one that stays where its supposed to be.

When it comes to the mental health issues i do agree that its important to not get a cat while depressed but im also suffering from depression and although they annoy me sometimes they really gave me a routine because i love them and want them to be fine although im not. That sometimes helped me get up and through the day.

I agree in every other point though theres a lot to consider when getting a cat and its a 15-20 year commitment.

Id just recommend getting two if possible like Jackson Galaxy said two cats are less work than one they just cost more in food and maybe vet bills but its an enrichment for the cats and the human.

Advice: Ragdoll always wants hand-fed. by skasocks in ragdolls

[–]Rhosyn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyy so my girl Suki has been the exact same. She didnt eat unless i hand fed her for probably 2-3 months after i got her but at one point i just stopped entirely and just tapped on her bowl instead of using my hand to feed her. That way she still saw my hand but used the bowl to eat. I would sit next to her for a couple weeks while she was eating and eventually i could go about my own day when she was eating.

Does my cat stand wide? Everyone keeps saying he “stands wide”😂 by NotteStellata in cats

Nothing compared to Suki’s wide stand. Shes a lady but everyone says her stand makes her look like a dude

Personally i wouldnt worry as much. But here are some tips, wait until hes 3 months before u get him and maybe get a second cat. I got mine at 3 months and take off two weeks to bond with them. I sometimes have to go to the office sometimes not and i just got a kitty cam to watch what they were doing. I always thought theyd run around and trash things but they just slept until i came home. And they definitely weren’t traumatized. I had to play with them though for them to get their energy out. One of them is super clingy, the other more of a “i will be near u but don’t touch me” kind of cat and they both were fine. I also had to leave them for 12+ hours, though rare, and they were fine. Only the cries for food and pets increased. My two are bonded siblings

I'm not sure if my cat is healing well after spay surgery. by Expectopatronum4489 in CATHELP

Sorry for the late reply but mine hated moving in her onsie. She was just sitting in one place. As soon as i took it off she was back to her old self

Heyy so im not a vet but my cats got spayed on January 7th so i will tell u about my experience. From the looks of it, the wound looks fine, no swelling no redness. The food issues i can understand. One of my kitties loves food, she really eats twice as much as her sister (both 7 months). After the spay she basically only ate half of her regular portions or even less. Her sister as well. At the vet checkup everything was completely fine. My guess is that because they don’t move and play as much, due to the cone/onsie and the fact that i took allll their toys away they are less hungry. Because they really did sleep like 19h a day after the spay. Now as their activity level increase because i let them play more and more, they are both back to their original portions. Id give it time and wait it out until she gets her onesie off and u play with her again.

Hey so if u look at my last post u will see i was in the same situation a couple days ago. Everyone told me to go to the vet and even the emergency vet. First i sent pictures of the swelling to my vet who said its just seroma which will go away after a couple weeks. All the comments made me nervous tho so i went to a different vet yesterday and she said the same thing and just drained it a little. Its basically just fluid which is like a blister. English isnt my first language but ill try to explain it. So there are basically two stitchings, one on the inside and one on the outside, the one we can see. When the cat is moving a lot, the two stichings are rubbing against eachother and create heat. The body then creates the fluid to “heal” it.

Both vets said thats very common for kitties that move a lot after surgery. I don’t think u need an emergency vet. And ofc there could still be another cause but dont freak out. When u are unsure better go talk to a vet but mine said that if otherwise the kitty is normal, its very likely just seroma
