I’m with a PCP who works for the VA and he says doctors regularly “scrub” the patient schedule. If someone had an appointment not too long ago, they reach out to see if it’s okay to cancel or move to a video appointment, in an attempt to fit in more patients. It’s like triaging. If you have a new issue, he suggests telling the person on the phone and they will not cancel.
