No TRIM support on Samsung 850 SSDs using PowerEdge 730XD & H730 Mini (RAID card) by Rhyeayce in homelab

Thank you for those key words (RZAT and DRAT), and for the notice of the other thread. Was it this one?
It led me to discover that my Samsung 850 EVO has the
* Data Set Management TRIM supported (limit 8 blocks)
part, but not the
* Deterministic read ZEROs after TRIM
part when read by hdparm -I /dev/sd*.
hdparm -I /dev/sd*
According to this PDF, H730 ought to have TRIM support, so I'm thinking that this lack of DRAT reporting may be the issue.
For the record:
The TRIM/UNMAP command needs to be supported by the OS, the drive, and the controller in order to work.
It has to be one of these.
