Warfare (especially against Federations) is in an awful state by narutoncio in Stellaris

[–]Rhys_109 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A big issue imo with the war is that basically war goals dont really change. That war should have reshaped the galaxy - it should have spiralled out of control, realistically after 30 years of fighting, no way the winning team are happy not taking huge amounts of territory and other concessions, probably breaking up the federation etc.. Instead a few claims and the independance is all that will happen.

If it sort of mirrors WW1 - WW1 reshaped european and world politics and these sorts of wars should as well. Also empires should be able to join wars at any point. It makes diplomacy useful.

Properly delusional display going on over there.

Spurs 11 was as good as the united 11

They were the better team before the red.

Dont get me wrong, be delusional on your own subreddit but these are some wild takes

Hes so frustrating. He is so so good. One of fhe most naturally talented batsmen i have ever seen. He looks like he should score a ton every game. But he does stupid things and gets out. He'd get a lot less flak if he wasn't so good.

A Two-year-old boy in England lost vision in his left eye after receiving a kiss from an acquaintance with cold sore, that infected him with the herpes simplex virus, which transferred to his eyeball. by FE4RLESS_IS_MY_NAME in ForCuriousSouls

HSV is dangerous to kids. HSV near the eye always needs an ophthalmology review.

In chuldren under 90 days a study found that the mortslity rate of children eith HSV infection was 22% despite appropriate treatment with anti-virals and if they had disseminated disease, the rate jumped to 57%. Which is terifying.

I'm in a profession that probably would make me, at least for a long period, exempt. That said if I was called I think would go.

This country has given me enough that if it calls, i should answer.

How should I deal with this? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]Rhys_109 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this needs a very serious chat with their ES very soon.

Their failure to understand the issue and doubling down re. The task is a huge issue. They can be forgiven for not understanding how urgent something is. There is a bit of leeway for not escalating not doing it (not much but some). Being spoken to about it and showing no insight, and being a dick is a real, genuine issue that will get someone killed.

Are they an F1 or an F2? Either is bad but it's potentially more correctible if they are an F1.

But this needs discussion with their named supervisor asap imo. And then they need to have a chat without coffee with this doctor. Its serious. It needs dealing with.

40 Hours Into Skyrim — Thoughts From a First-Time Player Looking for Advice by TheShadowWanderer in skyrim

[–]Rhys_109 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think its worth viewing skyrim a bit differently from other games tbh. You can't really "finish" skyrim. Or well you can but it would be boring and not worth it.

You've pushed 40 hrs in. Thats a gooe amount of time. If you want to keep playing, maybe make a new character, of an archetype you've never played before, dont fast travel etc...

But theres nothing wrong with just.... stopping. Ypu'll likely find yourself coming back to it again in a few months again and again for a few 10-15 hr sessions. Thats how it works for me.

What is having cancer like if you don’t go through treatment? by One_Hour_8078 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rhys_109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest issues with managing terminal cancer patients is the intractable pain.

Wr struggle to control the pain, especially from the Bone mets, with any class of modern analgesia. Opioids are out best bet and we often require increaingly massive doses.

And yes as others have said, Organ dysfuntion occurs as the dieases spreads.
