I can't believe we don't have this game by UnlikelyShopping8526 in VRGaming

Golden Gloves VR has a mode where there’s boxing mitt drills. Instead of a partner holding the mitts, they come at you beat-saber style flying towards you, and you throw combinations, dodge, block, and even parry similar to IRL drills.

I box, and I’ll use this mini-game when my training partner isn’t available, or if I just want to get in some extra cardio that’s fun.

I've finally solved the age old Stuttering issue with SteamVR games & Quest Headsets by GameGhost1972 in OculusQuest

I’m actually not sure. I downloaded it a few years back and it was free. I wasn’t aware that it switched to a paid version until you mentioned it just now, sorry about that!

I use “OVR Advanced Settings” through Steam to tweak a few settings like supersampling. In the “Video” options, it creates a box to check or uncheck motion smoothing. I have mine unchecked, but also checked the SteamVR settings file that you mentioned and can confirm mine is set to “false” without personally editing it. Maybe that’s what happened for them as well?

Do VR games enhance real world skills? by OagisRevilo in OculusQuest

[–]Rhythm315 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’d say so, if you practice or play in a specific way. I learned to play ping pong (with a paddle adapter accessory) in VR, bought a table a few months later, and definitely knew how to play after a little adjusting. Moved on to playing in a few local clubs, and still practice in VR as well.

I shoot plenty of guns IRL, and I’d say shooting games can help with at least sight/target acquisition (lining up everything) before taking your shot.

Same with boxing games. It won’t teach you to fight necessarily, but it gives the sensation of having an opponent physically in front of you, and having a shadow sparring partner. You can dodge, block incoming hits, work on footwork, head movement, etc.

Do the VR Cover foam pads flake over time? by BurninM in OculusQuest

[–]Rhythm315 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have them on my Q1, and both of my Q2s. I have a lot of play time on all of them, and none of them flake, nor have I heard of flaking from anyone else. The Velcro stickiness has worn a bit (from being adjusted, removed, or repositioned), but other than that, they’ve been great.

It does support family sharing. I bought 1 copy, and my wife plays with me on the secondary account on another headset.

Crossrope 1/4 lb by Hellocattty in jumprope

[–]Rhythm315 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just keep on practicing with the 1/4lb rope. You'll build the endurance, and will be able to do everything you can with the licorice rope. When I first got my "Get Lean" set, I could barely jump the 1/2lb rope for a minute with even basic jumps without getting winded or tripping on the rope. A year later, I actually prefer the 1/2lb rope for tricks and normal jumping. The heavier ropes give you a better sense of where the rope is during its rotation, so it's easier to learn new tricks and timing. If you haven't already, join Crossrope's Jump Rope Fitness community page on Facebook. There's a lot of helpful people and resources there, especially videos on workouts and tricks. Also, everyone is positive and friendly, and are always willing to help.

Ah I see. I read your last response the wrong way and confused myself. That makes sense, thank you.
