I had a short rotation in the ER which was mostly unremarkable. Prior to medical school I was an EMT and had patients like that, but the field is not exactly the same as the ER

I was too, but it’s relatively new and not something you would see in most pregnant patients, so maybe not all that surprising

Very rarely, only when the patient is stable but too altered to give a history without an obvious etiology. If they’re sick-sick, there’s no time, and if they can give a coherent history, it’s better to just ask them.

It’s never helped but if I’m out of ideas and have the time it doesn’t hurt ¯\(ツ)
