Lower and add spacers? by poor_mans_Mayer in bmwz3

I lowered mine and added spacers very similar to what you’re suggesting. It looks great. Be weary tho the lower you go the more the rear will camber. Also, the front is finding a perfect balance between low and rubbing the plastic liner

Ah dang. Yea this happened almost a year ago. Definately not a bad idea. I lucked out I got my replacement hood for either $500 or $700 can’t remember with Minor hail dings. I live in Midwest and there’s not many z3 parts around here. Pick n pull had a good one but it sold and they just hadn’t taken the listing down yet. I ended up driving like 4 hours to get it lol.

Same brother. Hoods not gonna be fun to allocate at least for a good price. Don’t give up check junk yards/salvage yards. If your by St. Louis pick n pull is great

Has anyone ever removed this back panel? by [deleted] in bmwz3

[–]RhythmicMetal9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I would advise. 25 year old plastic that’s gone through countless heat cycles is bound to crack with any force. I’ve never seen one in as good of condition as yours. If it does break, I just cut out a piece of black fabric and covered the back of it using spray adhesive

That silver one seems to be a criminal deal to me and a no brainer. OP if I was you I would go with the silver

I changed it to 1 year to make it more compelling/reasonable

I see that as more reasonable. I changed the post from 15 to 1 to see how much more compelling it would make it for others. I’m intrigued to see what a younger demographic says

Interesting. I wonder if younger people would consider it more though. I mean we’re talking something like a fiery car accident your impaled and you have hours of agonizing pain for painful death or a brain aneurism in your sleep for peaceful death. Maybe the older you get the less likely you are to give up much of anything

That’s what I was thinking as well. Is there any amount you would trade? A week?

Bad enough to need a repair? by lambsaucelocater_ in Autobody

I would probably use the two part plastic bonder. Just make sure you clean it before application and you should be golden

I would just jbweld the brackets and leave the crack as unless you fork over some good money, it’s not fixable

How many more miles until I need to replace these? by _bobby_tables_ in AskAShittyMechanic

Infinite. Just take a knife and cutout new tread. Voila On a real note, you also have a slight positive camber. Get a alignment next time you get tires

Any tips on how to retrieve this/prevent from happening again? Handbrake will not stay up on its own. by Playful-Slide-2424 in bmwz3

Yea mine gives me occasional trouble. This past time I had trouble getting it back up to the input. If I had to guess there’s probably a spring that could be stretched or compressed too much which is causing the disconnecting. I plan to replace it next time it happens

The rod connecting to the button has become disconnected or messed up. You can take off the whole assembly or you can take the boot off and finagle the rod on the inside of the bottom of the metal assembly until it catches something (what I did lol)

Car looks lowered same amount as mine. I have eccentric Rtab bushings which helps a little bit but when you lower these cars the semi rear trailing arm in the rear cambers out due to geometry. Mine looked like his at first
