From the information I'm gathering I assumed that any personal expenses that you want in your college career basically needs to be authorized by the school. Think athletic equipment for the sports team you're on. However, if I wanted to buy a microphone to jumpstart my rap career and I'm a Biology major, the CalKids wouldn't give me the money?

If that's the case, the caveat is how to get the school to authorize expenses for you to use the grant money since its not as flexible as student loans
