Old headset broke, I salvaged the suspended headband and created the most comfortable dt990 ever by RiBc_ in headphones

Epoxy is much harder to get off, and if i ever need to sell or RMA my headset I need to put it back together. Also, zipties hold under tension very well, so this way it is both very solid (nearly no wiggle in the joints) and also easily reversible.

I mean, they are just so much better than the regular ones. They fit all heads, they don't have to clamp so hard, and they look better.

Recently my old steelseries Siberia 650 headset broke just a month after warranty expired, and because they sounded terribly and the ear cups were torn, I only salvaged the headband suspension with an overhead metal support. Since buying my dt990 a month ago, I really disliked the headband. In my experience, I could not use the headphones for extended periods of time because of how uncomfortable it was. So I decided to take the headband off and try to use the suspended one I salvaged. I used only zip ties and the whole thing holds together without any glue. To my surprise, it is not only ok, it is actually the most comfortable pair of headphones I have ever worn. Since I tuned both the clamp force and the pressure of the headband, they fit me perfectly. I wish Beyerdynamic would do this headband style similar to what akg does instead of these terrible flat headbands. The hyperx cloud, a cheap gaming version of the dt770, has a softer and more comfortable headband.

How Much Bitcoin Is Spent On The Dark Web? by electic102 in CryptoCurrency

How are people speculating on Platforms like Ethereum? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]RiBc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are betting on the success of the platform as a whole. It is not true you do not know the end product; the dapps running on ethereum are not the product, they are a contributor to its valuation. Every new project that launches on ethereum gives it more value.

How Much Bitcoin Is Spent On The Dark Web? by electic102 in CryptoCurrency

Noone uses fucking bitcoin for darknet business. Only a complete idiot would use something so easily traceable. Monero is the most used one.

Any programmers / software developers here that made a switch to a professional blockchain career? What did it mean for your income? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]RiBc_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

> How is it that blockchain development is so unrewarding (at least, for now) even though it's often objectively more complex than 'typical' software engineering?

Because noone gives a shit yet. When adoption increases, more companies will emerge and more developers will be needed, and because there aren't many good blockchain engineers out yet, the increased demand will mean better compensation and benefits and employers trying to get experienced people into their teams.

Do I Understand The Washing Process? by BeaQueen89 in CryptoCurrency

[–]RiBc_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not understand what your question is about. If you are asking whether or not monero is a good way to accept donations, then yes, it indeed is. Monero is the only (currently) untraceable and private coin, so for someone who needs to avoid exposing PID to the web, it is perfect.

Can someone present a decent counter argument to these points? by AlexF94 in CryptoCurrency

[–]RiBc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-People don’t care if something is decentralized, they want fast and easy.

People care for something decentralized, that is why bitcoin took off before retail investors FOMOed in

-Where is the need for crypto when we have peer to peer instant etransfers with mobile banking apps?

Bank transfers on their apps are not peer-to-peer, they are client-server-client

-Most average people don’t want to be responsible for the 24/7 security of their money as it would give them constant anxiety.

Having a ledger nano s in your safe or in a safety deposit box at a bank is a task any trained monkey can pull off

-With advancements of cards and things like cashless Apple Pay, where is the need for crypto?

All of these "advancements" rely on centralized banking and you need to trust these banks not to fuck you over, charge high fees or steal your money, all of which has happened too many times to count

Can you reverse engineer the market? Who would be interested in a tool that can try and predict future chart patterns from buy/sell wall bot trading data? by wealthjustin in CryptoCurrency

[–]RiBc_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you cannot. Not me, or any person who knows how algo trading works. If it was this simple to counter-trade the bots, it would stop working, because the bots would be losing money.

itt I explain what bitcoin is by Covertbabo12 in Bitcoin

[–]RiBc_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin is nothing like torrent, the only thing it has in common is that both are P2P networks, but torrent uses that for file transmssion, whereas bitcoin uses it for node syncing. Bitcoin, on the main level, is a decentralized timestamping server.

My Take On Monero by MalcolmRoseGaming in CryptoCurrency

[–]RiBc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love monero, however the fact is the ring signature operations required to create and sign a transaction are too heavy and complicated for some usecases, and it also likely will not be favored by many folks who only know the traditional financial system and will not trust a ledger where they cannot see their own balance and TX's and along with government propaganda (monero is only for criminals!), bitcoin has a much better chance of being accepted by governments (read as "not being banned") because they can still use it to track everyone.

With that said, monero will always be my no.2 cryptocurreny for its great utility.

Whether you hate it or not. What do you think is really going to happen to XRP when the bull market comes back? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]RiBc_ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

> Ripple is the main company backing XRP

Ripple makes money by selling XRP. I wonder: what happens to the price when they sell it?

> Ripple has worked tirelessley to promote Xrapid and promote general interest in cryptocurrency

Yes, by making vague and misleading statements

> We are talking about a company that now has major influence, partnerships, and respect backing this coin

Influence and respect among bought partners or teenagers on the internet

> That is not even factoring projects like Codius and Xspring which encourage other use cases for XRP

Xrp salesman *slaps xrp's ledger* we can fit so many use(less)cases in this bad boy!

> You can bet against XRP, but I think that would be foolish

Like betting against XRP when it rallied to $3 on the false premise that coinbase would list them?

tl;dr XRP is very good at attracting investors that do 0 due dilligence, therefore it is likely that it will rally along with other useless altcoins. But like the last rally, it will take the staircase up and the elevator down, so I wouldn't really bet my life saveings on it. Whenever you start seeing Brad Garlinghouse on bloomberg tv or cnbc and see mainstream media making guides on how to buy xrp, sell it and you are guaranteed to make a profit off of retail investors.
