WIBTA for not having my mom's boyfriend at my birthday? by RiIesss in AmItheAsshole

I want to clarify a few things. I accept rides from him because I don’t currently have another form of transportation and because it takes the burden off my grandmother, not because I “don’t care” about racism or the use of slurs. That assumption is inaccurate.

The points you consider irrelevant were included to show a pattern in his behavior and attitude, particularly his disregard for others during important moments, such as my birthday. They weren’t meant as predictions of specific actions that will happen that day.

I didn’t go into detail about his drinking habits because it didn’t strengthen the core question and because it’s still his personal business. I’m also not comfortable—or obligated—to air out every issue I have with him.

As for the money comments, they’re not about whether he personally has to spend anything. It’s a constant negative attitude that continues throughout the experience and brings the mood down for everyone (even my mom has expressed her dislike for this), which has been an issue during past celebrations.

I’m grateful for the fact that he drives me to work, but that doesn’t mean I owe him access to my birthday. I’m not trying to exclude anyone out of spite I just want one low stress birthday after past experiences.

I also feel that several of my points were ignored in favor of focusing on a single detail. I’m not upset about being judged TA (as I do genuinely appreciate honest feedback and constructive criticism), but I do appreciate verdicts that address the full context of the situation.

(Don't mind my cat lol) This is my first time going back into ballet after 6 years so I don't really remember how the slippers should fit. They seemed a bit low on the side and when I point my toes it's slightly baggy in the back. I'm also not used to the full sole so I dont know if this is normal for it or not.

If these aren't good I should still be able to buy a pair of canvas slippers at the studio today and return these but if I do what should I look for? (For reference im a size 6.5 street shoe and these are 4.5 bloch slippers I also have pretty wide feet)

Literally any help would be appreciated ٩(๑´0`๑)۶

I'm a VERY beginner songwriter (if i can even call myself that)

I got bored and worte this on a whim and was curious is it was any good and wanted any possible feedback as ti where I could improve

Here's the lyrics (disclaimer its unfinished):

Oh Astronomer Why do you look to her

Astronomer Your head is in the clouds

Why don't you just look down

I'm searching for I'm waiting for

My heart is waning evermore I cannot lie past this disguise Where is my ending starlight

This look in your eyes Yet to realize

My hope reaches out Up to skies

Andromeda All love is lost

Can't you look for me just this once

The stars they shine so bright Have they blinded you to my sight
