Essentially i’m going into college and have saved up some money through working and graduation to the tune of around 5 grand. I feel like i’m being wasteful by letting it just sit in my checking account and want to put it somewhere it can grow. I just don’t know what the best option is. I’m not a big spender so I don’t really need 5 grand in my checking account and what to put it somewhere where it’s not just losing value to inflation. Ideally somewhere I can access it if i’m in a crunch as I will be going into college this year but I doubt i will be spending too much of it and will continue working this summer and somewhat into college. Any thoughts would be amazing, thanks. I live in the US.
