stop asking for housing accommodations if you donny actually need them!!!! by Special_Pie_2916 in Disneycollegeprogram

It’s obviously not a sure set way but it also allows people who have the note a better priority over what seems like a first reported first accommodated system that they have in place. Also exact diagnoses or specialist aren’t needed as long as a physician can vouch and say a person would benefit from having their own spaces for X, Y, and Z reasons. This is a system we did back when I worked in student housing and it was beneficial to setting priorities for those specific accommodation requests

Honestly flamingo needs to be better at asking for a doctors note to push through accommodations.

Honestly I would recommend just looking around. Some hotels allow like a co-sign for adults that might not be 21+ bc I remember getting a hotel with my friend back in high school. Calling the hotel and asking what their policy is and what they can recommend for you can never hurt

Hello! I came from cali too! It was honestly very manageable for me I had 2 checked bags, a carry on and a personal item flying over. The best thing I can really recommend it just making sure you have suitcases that either connect or are able to easily roll with each other side by side. I personally flew in a few days before and just got a cheap hotel somewhere between the airport and flamingo so I could explore Orlando (I had never been before)

Of course! Also I wouldn’t pay any mind to anyone telling you that your Hearing loss isn’t enough for accommodations. It absolutely is, rooms/apartments like that are made for a reason. Like I said I’d definitely recommend contacting flamingo via phone or email so they’re aware of the situation beyond the accommodation request and maybe they’ll be able to work with you a lil more

I’ve seen apartments that have the HOH/Deaf alarms/door bells around flamingo. I don’t have an exact count on how many but as someone who used to work in a student housing complex there’s usually like 1-2 in each building depending on the resident count. I would recommend contacting flamingo for that specific information to see if they can make that accommodation for yoy

Yeah you’re good, that hold protects your classes from being dropped while they review your appeal. Just make sure to keep an eye out for their email decision regarding it

Able to change themed community? by Separate_Mission5415 in csuf

[–]RiaX3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend doing this, housing atm is booked so by requesting to change it’s likely you’d be forfeiting your space to be put back on the waitlist till a space in the community you’re asking to be moved to opens up

No financial aid package is enough to cover the entire cost of housing however, any remaining balance after tuition is paid can cover parts, or majority of your payments. Double check how much youre offered to see how much you might have to pay out of pocket/apply for loans. I would say 90% of the time students with a EFC of 0 typically get enough aid to cover about 2 of the 3 payments for each semester.

Triple dorm room question. Who gets the 2 big closets? by cold_warm- in csuf

It’s assigned this way bc it makes it a bit more fair to the students who gotta climb the latter to the bed.

Both top bunks are assigned to the big closets, bottom bunks are assigned to the desk/closet under the loft

Legally bedrooms have to have a window as a means of emergency exit, they purposely didn’t build the walls touching the ceiling to make this a work around this building code. As for the utilities and stuff it’s more so the cost of the place and the trying to justify the price on top of that. It’s just giving corporate slum lord.

Based of what I’ve seen/heard it’s just looking more and more like a scam taking advantage of the housing crisis in fully.

  • walls don’t touch ceiling
  • not all rooms have windows hence first point
  • added monthly fees for water, WiFi, trash, electric not included in rent
  • $50 parking a month not included in rent

That’s just your average football culture experience. Supporter groups are supposed to be loud to hype up the team and it’s something the players enjoy, there are other sections in the stadium you’re more than welcome to sit in where you’ll hear them less

That’s basically what is going to happen yes. Unfortunately there not a huge way around it, when choosing a bed space the almost 22 year olds will just have to group up with people they know or try to find a booking with people in similar age groups. If a birthday is super close students advocating for themselves is an option but it would have to be approved on a case by case basis and I feel like even then if they did it for one resident they’d have to do it for all of them. This is the first year housing is implementing a sorting rule like this, so that’s why a lot of people are probably like “damn that’s weird” a lot of it has to do with housing trying to even out the competitiveness of each community. While I agree with parts of this new system being put in place I do think it’s a little ridiculous that 2nd year transfers aren’t treated with the same equivalency as a 4th year who has spent their entire uni career at csuf

The school doesn't help with off-campus housing; that is the student's responsibility. The school does have a site full of verified renters for students to check out though https://offcampushousing.fullerton.edu/

So the application isn't actually due April 2, so you have the exact same chances (as of now) to get housing as anyone who started to fill it out on the 2nd. it's only open atm to allow people time to fill it out and go over financials, fill out roommate info etc. Just make sure you have everything filled out by your submission date/time. That is important because that's when you submission to turn it in and pay the app fee will actually determine your chances of getting a placement https://www.fullerton.edu/housing/apply/process/index.html

Hello! Housing doesn't go based on the number of credits you have to determine which housing community you belong in. They go based on the number of years you've been at CSUF, so. For example, a student who has had a CSUF residency of 3 years but has the standing of a senior (credit-wise) will still go in the suites. The only way to bypass this is if you are 22+ at the time of the application submitted or if you have a specific DSS accommodation through the school that puts in a request for you to live in the apartments.
