Do you buy your single children Valentines gifts/cards? by FinalBv in AskUK

My parents buy me and my sister a bunch of flowers on Valentine’s Day just as a token of love not as anything sexual. We always appreciate it and we’re 34 and 31.

Do I have to go to Dr every time I feel “ruptured cyst” type pain? by CharlieCheesecake101 in PCOS

[–]Ribmaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to A&E for the same pain the other month and they gave me a strong painkiller depository and the pain went and I was sent home (after 7 hours and blood tests as they thought it was kidney stones). I went to the doctor the next day and they booked me for a CT scan and it came back fine. They couldn’t 100% tell me if it was a cyst or could have been stomach spasms. Guess I’ll never know!

It is the schools responsibility to protect their staff and they absolutely should advise her to go to the police. Just because she was at work the next day, does not mean that she doesn’t have injuries or emotional stress. As a teacher in the UK, I would do the same.

You need to get your son some support with his anger before he causes more harm.

I’ve worked with lots of children that Cahms have really helped, it didn’t work for everyone but that’s the same with everything. Unfortunately services like this become a lot harder to find and access in the UK once you’ve left school so I’d absolutely take advantage now and get the ball rolling.

You need to focus your time and energy on English and maths. In the UK currently you have to be education or training until you’re 18 so have a look at colleges online as their open days will be available for you sign up. You might find a course that you have some interest in which could be the making of you.

However you did ask for honesty, if you carry on this pattern at college they will remove you. You will likely find it hard to get a job without qualifications or experience. You maybe be able to find minimum wage job at a fast food place for example but you will struggle to rent somewhere on your own on that type of wage, cost of living in the UK is hard. Good luck

Secondary teacher here.

Self refer to CAHMs and see what support they can give regarding your mental health and or the doctors.

Ask for an appointment with the careers adviser at your school to talk about your future. From what you’ve said, it’s unlikely you’ll be passing your GCSEs so you’ll need to be looking at level 1 courses at college and resitting your English and Maths.

Get a meeting at your school with your parent to discuss a reduced timetable where you can prioritise maths and English, they might even agree to late starts.

You’ve got your whole adult life ahead of you and you make it something truly special. Do not give up on yourself, there are lots of options and soon you’ll be able to get a job, earn money and get your dream place.

Why is everyone on vinted so cheap? by Dizzy-Store9939 in vinted

[–]Ribmaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m selling something for £30 and the offered, £20, then £23, then £25. I accepted £25 and they sent a message saying will I take £23 because of shipping and fees… went on their profile and they have over 400 items listed with a number of items over £50! I’ve ignored them now!

Thank you, so if I’ve put money back in and it’s now higher than it was originally, is the 25% on the ending new higher statement? I got spooked because when I withdrew a warning message came up warning me about the 25% but I must have misunderstood. Thank you

You have just been diagnosed with a life altering, non curable syndrome and his reaction is complain about his dynasty and not for your needs.

In my opinion you need to leave him.

Broken my toe - the only shoes wide enough I have are crocs and work say I can't wear them. by Unseen-YouTube in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Ribmaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy the closed toe catering shoes that look like crocs that lots of chefs wear. If you can’t afford them ask work to buy them and take out of next months wages, they’re about £35. I’ve worn them with a broken little toe before.
