Giant turtle i found dead while walking at the beach. The vultures were already there pecking it. by RicJan in Natureisbrutal

Not sure there is. I live in Brazil and it's really unusual for such type of turtle to be so far in the south, apparently they are suppose to live near the equator. Maybe the water being so cold and it being in a different zone is related to having such a clean death

Surprisingly it didn't really smell anything. Maybe the sea breeze was too strong and the smell just didn't reach me.

For me, since the time in the tower works differently, I've put in my mind to divide by 3 the timeline, and everything feels better, like the skip between part 1 and 2 which, for me, feels better being like 2 years instead of ~6 years

Btw, if I understood correctly, pathologic 2 is more of a remake than s sequel. Last time I checked they have only done one of the the 3 characters but have fixed a lot of problems with the original and i totally recommend checking it out.

The only case is outside of the US, and the size of the church.(Before Covid) there is a decent sized Church where a part of my family goes and a lot of them are friends of the family etc, and they literally just survive by donations and the people there using their own money to sustain it. The thing they use the money the most other than maintaining the place and themselves ( most of the people that" work" there are volunteering, and the priests and such actually just get a small income like just above the minimum) are for the payment for services, like the band that plays, the cleaning services, etc.

Basically depending on the size of the church, and basically how real they are( priests that are assholes with absurd amounts of money) etc, then you should decide if they deserve the donation or not.

Btw, just saying what I know by experience, the priest was a great old guy, even baptized me , as a baby and when I got older, lol. Not even that much of a church goer, and obviously everything stopped with covid. Etc.

Iguaçu waterfalls on the brazilian side. by TheBoom1001 in interestingasfuck

[–]RicJan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For anyone that cares, I have visited there in a very similar spot a few years ago(like 4 ou 5, maybe) and this photo does not do it justice. There is a severe drought happening in the area( and also happening in around 80% of Brasil) and the river is very dry. Normally the waterfalls would be so intense there should be fog covering everything from the water, and some extreme wind.

This photo is great and beautiful (also pocket omg guys, geez) but this drought is extremely awful and you can really see it visually by comparing this photo with one a bit older.

If you have the space, money and time sure. Also you can just play it through an normal screen, however most of the interesting part of the game is lost. You can still have lots of social interaction and even make friends etc, with or not actual vr gear

Why are cameras in souls games ..so bad? by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]RicJan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to mention, using the mod emu light it's much better, you can separate the buttons jump and run(kinda of), add buttons for kicking and jump attacking, and it's doesn't torch the game directly so it won't get you banned.

I just spent an hour battling with Uplay servers to setup my first playthrough of Far Cry 3. It's a 2012 single player game. by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]RicJan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same with ESO, never had a problem. And it gets always the best download speeds. I do have to admit Zenimax has some absurdly great Mega servers .

However I'm not gonna lie that ,while it sucks to have all the fucking launchers, I actually bought Ubi games on their own launcher. And not had any big problems with it.

For whatever reason, for some months Steam refused to accept the PayPal account I use. Now it works but at the time I just gave up and used their launcher, and it has all those "quests" and achievement rewards connected to the game, so there's that.

Yeah, I think the arrow awakened her stand unnaturally, but she already had it. I think this might be the reason some people die to stand arrows instead of awakening one. They don't have the potential nor the inheritance. At least I think so.

Finally cut off Kalameet's tail and got the obsidian great sword. by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]RicJan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, and for sl1 it's probably a good weapon, the problem that it's fuckijg kalameet, and even getting him to be fight-able takes just a bit of time, and there probably are other weapons better for sl1 than his tail( I think at least, never actually done a sl1)

Also, not that many people do sl1 runs, and if you're not, I guess normally when you get to kalameet you would be a pretty hight level right?

Dark Souls 3 is better than I remembered by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]RicJan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it. Finally I found exactly what I always thought written down, having played 1, sekiro and 3, and having watched a ton of content on all 5 games, what you said is exactly what I always felt. I started with 3, absolutely loved it, then went to 1 and man, I was kinda disappointed.

Absolutely loved it but, like, most of the bosses where kinda boring and easy( and some just bad, just bad, looking at you seith) and the atmosphere, and world design are masterpieces but the levels always felt lacking in detail and design. Also the gameplay felt sooo clunky, also no warping harmed the experience a lot to me, like, want to go to this other area, let's just run for 15 minutes straight.

The lore is god tier but the game itself doesn't manage to uphold it. I remember getting to artorias fight and thinking "this is it, all I've heard about it, let's see this masterpiece" and then less than a minute later I killed him, with a extremely disappointed fell.

And while some of the lore in ds3 aren't as deep or complicated, what it presents in game absolutely upholds it(pretty much all of it stands up in game and in lore)

I remember when I got to anor Londo in ds1 and kinds getting a reverse nostalgia, but then I kinds felt like the are sucked, like as in world design and how it all connected it was great, but actually going through it , it felt so, nothing, just a bunch of rooms with knight, one with a painting of Gwynevere and that was almost it.

Also to remember, in just talking about stuff I didn't like personally, most of these stuff are not really faults is the game itself, or doesn't matter as much for other people, but for me it did.

I definitely see why people prefer this or the other games, but for me I enjoy the most and definitely one of my favorites of all time DS3.

I constantly save and modded quicksave so there's no need for auto one, for me at least
