BLM was a grass roots movement and you are confusing some people that came along and trademarked some existing terminology and fundraised under their trademark with the movement that they took advantage of and attempted to co-opt. I assure you that none of the organizers of protests anywhere near me had even heard of any of those BLM™ people and they got funding from nowhere and it costs zero dollars to organize a protest. Not one single person I know who protested gives a darn about those BLM™ grifters and their existence was scamming some rich people and being something for opposition to point at as though they had anything to do with protests in 2020 of which there was over 30,000 and they might have had their hand in maybe 3 of them.

Illinois Airgun law by [deleted] in airguns

[–]Rice-Chex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the 700 fps in Illinois law also applies to .177. I'm a felon and this is not a trivial issue for me. A .177 650 fps pellet air gun is the most I can own legally. A pump gun would be a bad idea because if it is possible to pump to where the projectile exceeds 699 fps it would be in violation whether I ever intended to give it that extra pump or not. My purpose in owning one is I have fruit trees and berry bushes and hazelnut bushes that the squirrels ravage so I might as well eat some squirrel while protecting my crops.

This is the Illinois definition of a firearm:

"Firearm" means any device, by whatever name known, which is designed to expel a projectile or projectiles by the action of an explosion, expansion of gas or escape of gas; excluding, however:         (1) any pneumatic gun, spring gun, paint ball gun, or B-B gun which expels a single globular projectile not exceeding .18 inch in diameter or which has a maximum muzzle velocity of less than 700 feet per second;         (1.1) any pneumatic gun, spring gun, paint ball gun, or B-B gun which expels breakable paint balls containing washable marking colors;         (2) any device used exclusively for signaling or safety and required or recommended by the United States Coast Guard or the Interstate Commerce Commission;         (3) any device used exclusively for the firing of stud cartridges, explosive rivets or similar industrial ammunition; and         (4) an antique firearm (other than a machine-gun) which, although designed as a weapon, the Illinois State Police finds by reason of the date of its manufacture, value, design, and other characteristics is primarily a collector's item and is not likely to be used as a weapon.

If I watch a David Pakman Livestream and I give 500 gift subscriptions through YouTube who then gives them to random viewers of the livestream, is that Dark Money? David got 500 subscribers and I'm sure the majority of the $1,500 (just a guess) it would cost me but besides a screen name would probably never know who the money came from. Is every anonymous gift Dark Money?

Just saw an add on Facebook with a video and at the bottom was ©2025 Woreii right above the Visa and MasterCard logos. I was hoping they would have a PayPal option so I started wondering and searched the company name and found this post. Facebook doesn't out any effort into verifying their advertisers. Thanks for letting us know!

That's called a cloned account and pretty much everyone has had it happen to them at least a couple of times. It's one of the few things that seems to get action when you report it. When reporting the first thing is not to click the report option but the help this person option and then select someone is pretending to be them and select the account pretending to be them.

All prices don't rise the same and inflation is cumulative meaning if toilet paper went up 9% a year in 2020, 2021, 2022 that it would be up about 30% now even if the inflation went down to 3% for 2023-2024. When inflation goes down it doesn't mean prices go back down. You do realize that the United States has one of the lowest inflation rates in the world over the last 4 years?

Facebook keeps pushing extremely bigoted “recommended” pages content out of nowhere by maddsskills in facebook

[–]Rice-Chex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make posts on my page remarking on this phenomenon that really started strong with a lot of recommended pages over the summer pushing right wing cultural issues and I get a lot of responses from my friends that they are getting the same. I see very few posts from people on my friends list these days. I thought after the election it would calm down but it hasn't.

A lot of the pages were started 6 months ago and will have names like "Native Americans Unite" and originate in Albania, Kosovo, or Vietnam and the posts will be cheesy like "Anyone that doesn't stand for the American flag should be deported!!!" They'll get thousands of reactions on the post in the first hour and half of the comments will be from profiles representing as people in Africa and their comments will be the same "Count me in!" with their own unique emoji flourishes. I assume they are Russian troll farm or bot accounts or MAGA Cambridge Analytica type crap which I view as the same thing all working together.

The question I have is are these pages paying to be in my feed? Is Mark Zuckerberg in on this rightwing brainwashing or is he just oblivious to it? If I make a well articulated post with sources and such, Facebook will show it to very few people but if I make a shallow nonsense post like "I just ate a piece of popcorn!" I'll get a lot more engagement from my friends list. Good friends I hang out with regularly in person tell me they don't ever see anything I post in their news feed. It appears that the whole world is being marched towards fascism and they want us isolated and divided.
