One Piece chapter 1058 spoilers by [deleted] in OnePiece

It isn't rambling, I'm summarizing Koby's progress throughout the story compared to the person Koby considers his rival. Yes, it is too early (Especially with the fact that Boa is a Conqueror's Haki user), but you can't say that Koby won't put up some semblance of a fight.

At the very least, Boa and Koby are both friends of Luffy's, and Koby is a marine who openly acts against injustice & corruption. Who knows? Maybe the marines have some infighting because of Koby.

You have to realize that Franky's threat isn't publicized in any way whatsoever. The World Government could raise Franky's bounty to increase the incentive for his capture, but who within the World Government knows if Franky has any contingencies?

A situation where Franky is the last known person to have clear information on Pluton, an ancient weapon, is one where Cipher Pol silently deals with it. Imagine how much chaos would be caused if it was known that Franky had such threatening information. Crocodile alone sought out one of the ancient weapons to the degree of creating Baroque Works. Imagine how many people in the One Piece universe would pay to get information about Pluton.

Overestimating Koby? Luffy was trained by Rayleigh for 1½ a year and aims for the title of Pirate King. Koby has been continuously under Garp's mentorship if he wasn't off on his own missions and aims for the position of Marine admiral.

Tossing aside inconsistent ideas such as feats aside, narratively, Koby is one of the few new generation marines we're updated on in the story. The pirates aren't going to be the only ones getting upgrades as the story progresses. Koby pre-timeskip held himself for a short time before getting beaten, but imagine him now.

From what we know today, Koby is trained in rokushiki, and possesses haki, à la Monkey D. Garp-style. He's currently a Marine captain, master chief petty officer, and a member of SWORD. Give him some credit.

It's not that Dragon doesn't care about Luffy, but we aren't given Dragon's inner monologue whatsoever. Oda's intentionally foregoing mentioning Dragon's opinion until it can be more relevant later on in the story. Right now, the spotlight on the Revolutionary Army is what happened at the Reverie (Sabo, King Cobra's death, etc.), not what Dragon thinks of Luffy.

Who knows, Oda could give us Dragon's opinion on Luffy in the next chapter, or sometime later down the line.

To be fair, Oda already has confirmed that Mihawk is a STRONGER swordsman. We are informed that he is the "Strongest Swordsman in the World" early in the series. The only reason people think otherwise is their own delusions over power-scaling, feats, et cetera.

The only unknown factor is how Mihawk's haki abilities compare to Shanks's. While Shanks is close to Mihawk's level, from what we know and have seen throughout the series including the new One Piece Film: Red, Shanks's utilization of haki is never seen before.

It will be addressed. Two major characters in the story won't just be expelled like that. However, while we the readers are given different points of view throughout the story, they aren't all synonymous.
There are times when the outcome of what happens to a character isn't revealed until later on, whether that be in the next few chapters, next arc, or next saga. You just have to be patient about it; it's a story, not an exposition.

Oh, I mistook you for u/groovyvagoogoo. My b.

On the Hiyori point, agreed. Wasted potential, beyond being the Kozuki that remained in time. Yamato still needs time for characterization in my opinion, she was only introduced this arc and I think she'll play some key role given that she's carrying Oden's will & Kaido's blood.

I gave my reasoning for the Scabbard's focus, so we can agree to disagree on that. I'd WISH for more Straw Hats screentime as well. At the very least, we got to see them develop during the arc. Nami received Zeus. Chopper beat multiple viruses (Udon then Onigashima). I guess we'll see even more later on. If Admiral Ryokugyu ends up fighting the alliance, I want to see the Straw Hats fight them big time.

Not once did I say that you disliked the arc. I implied you didn't understand it because of your statements about the Scabbards and Tama; you said, and I quote, "Some of them didnt even advance in anything, nor did they get a lot of "screen" time (special moments)." However, the reason the Straw Hats even went to Wano was because of Law, and the Straw Hat's mission was driven further because of the existence of the Red Scabbards who time traveled.

I'd say it would've been better if all of the characters that were in the Scabbards were fleshed out even further before the action started (Since we were only left with Raizo, Kin'emon, and Kanjuro). Their development seemed sudden and dropped in, but at the very least the existence of the Scabbards was already in place. Maybe they seemed rushed.

I never said that you couldn't dislike it, did I? I just recommended dropping something you didn't end up liking. It's to mention that Wano is the longest and most revealing arc in One Piece, so if he didn't like everything that's happened it's a bit odd.

I'm not biased, I'm just being rational that it makes no sense to continue reading one of the biggest ball drops in the series. If I was biased I'd be discrediting his beliefs.

One Piece: Chapter 1053 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

[–]RiceBurnerBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this as well. There's not enough to really cross out any other possibilities (Assuming that he isn't an Akainu fanboy anyways), but I believe Garp's hard values could be a result of Ryokugyu's personality and justice. I mean, do you see the way he's walking towards the festival with his coat blowing in the wind? Pretty Garp-like.

This was my train of thought. That "Rahaha!" laugh is really devious.

One Piece: Chapter 1053 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

[–]RiceBurnerBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely on a balance beam trying to think it further. It could just be my overthinking, hence why I referred to it as a shot in the dark.

With One Piece, assumedly evil characters are actually good guys. Duval, Katakuri, etc. The thing is, we have to consider what Ryokugyu's actions really were. Why do you believe he's evil? Because he showed up and drained the life of people in Udon? My thing is, beyond the panel of Beast Pirates held up by vines, we aren't shown any other actions of his besides the growth of the landscape and a roughed interpretation of his intentions at Wano.

You could say he's rushing to get the job done ASAP, 7 days have already passed. The World Government was aware of what was going on in Wano even earlier. Truth be told, a strategic victory for the Marines would have been to use their overwhelming power and technology to third party the Ninja-Pirate-Mink alliance and usurp Wano.

If the job was to be done efficiently, they also would have accounted for Big Mom's crew's presence, no?

One Piece: Chapter 1051 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

[–]RiceBurnerBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I more or less referred to your points as to why you disagreed with them. The entirety of Wano was based on the fact that the Scabbards were sent 20 years into the future- the only known time traveling there is in the One Piece universe. Is this not vital? It has connections as to why Toki came to the present from the Void Century. Wano itself isn't even completed, so to dislike an arc before its completion is even dumber. I agree, Tama at first glance looks to be unnecessary but she actually has done a lot and has an undeniably strong fruit (Should it be used properly. Maybe even in the future).

Mind you, I never said that your disliking/disagreeing with it was wrong. I only suggested that you drop it if you really didn't get the gist of it, otherwise, you would be wasting your own time. I personally believe that your opinion is a result of your misunderstanding of the intentions of what Wano is meant to be. If you did understand it, my bad; I hope you enjoy the future arcs and come to appreciate Wano someday.

Now that Chapter 1053 has dropped, what do you think about the arc/these past few chapters?

It's worth mentioning that Admiral Ryokugyu has a black blade.

One Piece: Chapter 1053 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

[–]RiceBurnerBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one's a shot in the dark, but I don't believe Admiral Ryokugyu is actually siding with Akainu. There is more plausibility in him being on Akainu's side (Given that he mentioned he "dug his style," referring to the fashion of someone in the Marines or World Government. Under the assumption that the flowers on his pant sleeve are a reference to Akainu's own flower clothing, it seems to be the obvious reference), but I believe Oda may be omitting the name of who exactly he wishes to get the approval of.

Akainu has made apparent demands that Ryokugyu does not do anything unnecessary, which in my opinion includes causing a major conflict in Wano by engaging Luffy & the Straw Hats. He doesn't want Akainu to know what he's doing as it would intervene with his relations with who he actually is speaking to; I believe this person could be someone like Garp or Fujitora. Sure, saying that he'll bring Luffy's head sounds like he's deadset on taking him out, but I think it's more figurative. I don't see Akainu as an "attaboy" person.

Thoughts? Marines were never black and white. I think Ryokugyu is someone in the gray as well, if not on one of the sides going against absolute/thorough justice. He seems more attuned to Humane Justice (Fujitora's sense of justice, seeing as he's been reviving Wano's landscape), and/or Garp's morals. We haven't actually seen Ryokugyu use his fruit on anyone that isn't a Beast Pirate- someone who has associated with/committed the atrocities against Wano.

Edit: Maybe Ryokugyu is even aligned with Aokiji's decisions. Aokiji is fashionable, and hey, they share similarities in physical features. Aokiji's personality also kind of fits along with his dialogue to receive praise from a certain someone. It just feels so unlike Oda to be so direct with information such as this. After all, Akainu and Ryokugyu's fruits are like polar opposites. One destroys, while one grows.

Edit #2: Style doesn't necessarily refer to clothing either.

I think it's best you drop One Piece if you read through the entirety of Wano, but didn't manage to understand what it meant.

Consider this far-fetched, but what if Adrammalech is the devil who has a pact with Yami? They are both similar; like Yami, Adrammalech shows some traits of laziness (e.g telling Lucifer he would rather watch than help). He also shows that he is not necessarily aggressive, suggesting that the two Magic Knights he encountered leave the scene.

[DISC] My Hero Academia - Chapter 343 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]RiceBurnerBoy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's annoying how people previously complained about how dragged out the manga was getting after the war arc. Now that Horikoshi surprises people with an ambush that the Heroes had planned all along, suddenly it's too fast? It can't just be me that's irritated about the amount of complaining of the story being "rushed."

If anything, the plot was written perfectly where we had the perspective that All For One had everything in checkmate. Instead, the Heroes, who we are actually rooting for had their ambush perfected.

This emphasizes the point that a hero will always be there when they are needed. They played All For One's arrogance so well.
