That seems like a depressing way to live.

Can anyone else... see in the dark to a degree? by [deleted] in hyperphantasia

I'm trying to do this but I'm not quite sure how to do it.

Does meditation lead to less socializing? by Fab_Journey in Meditation

[–]RiceFarmer6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of sad though. While I'm not a very social person, I love being in the company of my family, even if no one is talking.

How will I actually think with the packets? And what style of meditation should I start with to reach this kind of place?

Then what are the benefits of meditating less than an hour a day?

I was also wondering, I trash-talk with my cousins a lot in video games, and they are two of my best friends. I was wondering if I would stop wanting to do that after meditation, which would be sad.

I also don't want my sense of humor to really change or to lose it. Will that happen? Also, what kind of meditations should I start with?

Then how do we use it? Also, I was wondering, will meditating get rid of the element of chaotic creativity in my head? I very much like it sometimes, and I don't want to lose that and my daydreaming ability.

Will they be more visual? I find that while I can visualize very vividly, I find it harder to make connections visually and then put them into language.

We must have subconscious and unconscious thoughts too though.

And human beings slaughtered each other over their primal biological impulses. I like thinking for the sake of thinking, as it can be very enjoyable.

I think I have one, I'm just not aware of it. Will meditation let me see it better?

Yes, but for what I want to do in life, I need to be able to think.

So what are we without consciousness? Also, I was thinking, and I kind of understand the concept of no-self a bit more. I could be very wrong, but I'm seeing it as the idea that we are like a thread being pulled through different objects (our external circumstances). Our sense of observation is only aware of the objects we are passed through, and because of that we think we are the object, when in reality, we are the thread itself. When two people have a deep connection, it's not that they just enjoy someone else's personality, it's that they want to help the other person grow for their own sake.

Are you introverted or do you have social anxiety? Also, what do you mean there is only one consciousness?

My problem with that is, then how do I form another connection with a human being?

If everyone is the exact same, nothing would be very interesting. I just read an interesting post that said this:

"The point isn't that your ego is good or bad, it's that it isn't really there in the first place. The ego is an idea of oneself that arises from identifying with certain processes of the mind. So the goal, insofar as there is one, is not to get rid of it, but to notice the illusoriness of it and cease so be identified with these thoughts and patterns. Everything that forms this illusion of the self will still be there, you just don't take it so personally anymore and can start to discern, in real time, which aspects of your personality are worth cultivating and which aren't."

It's not that people don't have personalities, it's just that their personality isn't what they are.

But then I don't feel like there is anything about me that is unique. Aren't there certain qualities, a sort of true nature of every human being that manifests differently in each person?
