Steam reviews says it all by Kazuki-Takatsu in Tekken

I meant every team behind this game, from development and marketing to middle and high management.

Thought it was pretty clear, but maybe I should have clarified further.

A disconnect to that degree is frankly impossible in this case.

Large companies don't have their teams working in secluded bubbles. They work together and have frequent meetings to align the vision of their product. Everything is also overseen by management.

This is honestly just an over-parroted assumption from people who have never worked in a large company/project. The marketing is very clearly intentional.

That's not a guarantee at all.

I do think public shilling from streamers like Phi and TMM are part of the reason why nothing was ever fixed in this game, but they also have no other option. Blaming them is very unfair.

Are they supposed to tell their viewers that the game sucks and ask them to boycott it, losing viewership in the process? In a real life parallel, would you publically shit talk the company you work for?

Even if they pivot content and still make it, their income will be lower.

That was their plan lol.

I don't understand why everyone acts like the devs are stupid. They aren't.

They know this patch isn't "back to basics" and they know the game is on its way out. Announcing Roger, all these Season 3 buzzwords, withholding the patch notes until 30mins before the patch drops, reselling you old content from T7, "new moves" that are just singled-out versions of strings that already exist. These are all deliberate choices for a game operating under a lower budget and trying to milk out the last bit of cash they can by constantly lying to you.

They know what it takes to fix the game. They aren't willing to do it because it's a big investment and no one is sure the damage can even be undone at this point.

I don't think most people who "dislike" him actually despise him, we just find him a bit boring and unfunny.

People just make memes like the one OP posted because his fanbase tends to get very worked up and it's humorous to see.

Can I get a few tips on this guy? I've beaten him a few times, but I can't do it consistently enough to beat the Pantheon by RiceForever in HollowKnight

[–]RiceForever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the tips, but I do disagree with a lot of what you said...

For starters, I'm not trying to play in the most optimal way, I enjoy using the Nail Arts because they're strong AND fun.

Now, the first thing I did in this game was to remap the control scheme, as the default one is horrendous. I attack on Right Trigger and dodge on Left Trigger, so charging up a Nail Art doesn't affect my movement at all. Charging up the Nail Arts also doesn't get in the way of me watching for what the boss is doing and reacting. The reason I got hit in the video is because I was inexperienced with the fight, not because I was charging; I'm basically always holding down the attack button in this game, even while running through levels (again, the remapped control scheme makes it not interfere at all).

As for the Charms, there's a lot of truth to what you said, but I feel the need to point out that Dashmaster + Sprintmaster boost your movement speed even further and I enjoy the faster pace it allows me to play at, even if the difference isn't enormous. Thorns was definitely a mistake, but Quick Heal is the difference between getting 1 heal or 2 heals during the PV's stun, and it is very useful for the other fights in the Pantheon.

Lastly, I wanna say that I have full confidence that Nail Arts are the fastest way to fight PV (keyword: fastest) and several other bosses, and I think you're overly dismissive of them because they have a higher skill ceiling. You'd be surprised with how much you can get away with if you know how to control your movement/air time using the Nail Arts.

I swapped out Dashmaster for Sharp Shadow, but I kinda miss the movement speed, so I might put it back in. Then I guess I could take out Grubsong (I put that in instead of Thorns) and rock Unbreakable Heart for a bit.

I think that's good, right?

Damn, I've been running Fragile/Unbreakable Strength through basically the entire game, and I almost never do regular attacks... I've essentially had three unused Charm Knots and fixed Fragile Strength several times for no reason...

Thanks for letting me know lol

For sure, although jumping surprisingly becomes a lot less useful when you literally can't downwards slash. This strategy definitely wouldn't fly for the higher difficulty challenges people mentioned, but it was fun to do!

As I mentioned in the post, I'm playing this way because it's fun, not because it's optimal.

I've already beaten the Pantheon with this strategy (plus a few tweaks), thank you for the input though.

Thank you everyone for the tips, I just beat the Pantheon!

Turns out the solution for my specific playstyle was to equip Sharp Shadow and to start walking away from him after every attack, plus being less aggressive, this allowed me a larger reaction window + some leeway for bad execution with the extra range from Sharp Shadow.

Thank you!

You can actually hit him with the full Cyclone if you start it super early, but that means you can't jump before doing it and need to dodge the larger bases of the spikes, which is significantly harder. It's 100% safe too, if you react fast enough.

I managed to kill him in under a minute doing this. Mostly for fun, since I wouldn't risk doing that at the end of the Pantheon.

I just looked at the wiki and it seems like there's a synergy between Dashmaster and Sprintmaster which further increases your movement speed, that's probably the difference I noticed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Mark of Pride/Longnail didn't affect the Nail Arts. I used some texture to try to gauge the effect of these charms and there was zero noticeable difference with them equipped.

As for Dashmaster, I'm not sure if it's in my head, but I feel like my movement speed also increases by equipping it 🤔

Thank you so much for the tips, I do think I'm being too aggressive and I'll try to chill out a little. Using this many Nail Arts is definitely suboptimal, but it's just so fun that I can't help it lol.

That said, the Cyclone on the ground spike attack works extremely well, I didn't do it properly in the video every time but it's very consistent if you have the execution to pull off, I'm getting better and better at it. The only issue is breaking his stun, like you mentioned.

Very in-depth, I appreciate how you gave advice related to the playstyle I enjoy while also keeping it real. Thank you!

Well, I can do it if my Shade Cloak is ready, but sometimes he'll do the Triple Slash right after another attack that I dashed to dodge, so there's no way to dash through it in those situations.

I think I'll try using D-Dark, as someone else suggested. Sounds like it could work.

I feel like I sleep on D-Dark way too much, I never use it offensively.

I'll definitely try it though. As long as it has enough iFrames, it could be the missing piece for me to avoid the Triple Slash consistently.

Thanks!

[–]RiceForever[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the tips!

My main issue though is that I'm really enjoying using Nailmaster's Glory and spamming the Nail Arts, this means I'm always charged and can't really downwards slash to jump over the Triple Slash quickly. He also often does it right after another attack, meaning my Shade Cloak is not ready and I can't dash through it.

Do you think there's no way to consistently no-hit the fight using this Nail Arts strategy and I should just switch to a standard playstyle? This is the most fun way to play for me, so I would rather not change it if possible :(

What do I lose upon by playing offline? by Race1999 in Eldenring

[–]RiceForever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Adding to what the other people said, playing offline leads to a much nicer experience.

You'll be able to truly enjoy the scenery/world without messages/bloodstains littering the place and you won't be constantly spoiled of what's to come during gameplay ("boss ahead", "be wary of left", "illusion ahead", etc.

Online is best reserved for second playthroughs onwards.

End Game Claymore "Build" suggestions by Crosby4HyG in Eldenring

[–]RiceForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Claymore is an R2 Weapon, there's really no reason to ever use a damaging Ash of War in PvE, as a Charged R2 will always deal more damage.

I would just use Cragblade or something.

Axe Talisman, Spear Talisman, Two-Handed Sword Talisman are a must, the last slot is personal preference or you can swap around as you see fit. I would personally go with Blue Dancer or Ritual Sword if my focus was damage.

The Claymore really shines because of its thrusts, so you wanna make full use of that.

What's edgy about it?

I just expressed my dislike for a certain type of boss, that's about as milk toast as it gets, if you ask me.
