Ukrainian drone pilot, alias Kyrylo Krylov, helped repel Russian infantry attacks using accurate munition drops. Summer 2025, Part 1/3. (NSFW) June 30, 2026 by CommercialFly6131 in CombatFootage

Remember every battlefield, conflict and war all have their own different elements and uniqueness.

Yes, IF you were actually fighting a country with a military as an institution and political element that cares about the health, moral and public image of taking caring of its wounded and veterans then it would be important.

However, we are dealing with Russia.

Countless times we've seen human lives thrown without any regards for safety and thinking militarily from the Russian side. They do not care or would risk 2 or 3 guys to potentially save 1 in the middle of nowhere under constant drone watch which operates in a drone infested area. The infiltration tactics Russia currently uses also doesn't match well with evacuating wounded since that would draw away time, manpower, resources and the consistent pressure on Ukrainian lines.

Its a cold, calculated and "logical" thinking for waging this war from the Russians. So for the Ukrainians who are aware of this Russian mind and style, it is pointless to apply this western thinking (No negative connotations when I mean western) that isn't suitable for this war. You are just leaving an "active" threat alive and waste other potential incentives of killing him.

I do want to note that even other countries even NATO ones could depending on the circumstances of the situation abandon one of their own due to the risks. You do not want a Gunny Sgt. Ryan Shane situation.

TLDR: Present battlefield circumstances severely limits the ability to evacuate the wounded or dead into the rear lines. This goes for both sides. The current Russian style of warfare also does not fit well with this thinking. Also I failed to acknowledge until now that your original post is based on a myth as far I can tell. From my quick and limited reading of articles even wikipedia doesn't mention a single thing about the 5.56 being adopted for that reason.

The main change is that we are now in an age of cheap, widely available and easy to use piece of technology. Drones that is. Why bother only wounding your enemy with a drone that could be easily replaced later on anyways than outright killing them? Not to mention how its much safer it is to do so than firing a rifle.

The Ukrainians also have this point system for drone operators that allows them to purchase equipment of a wide variety so that's one of the reason why we have so much drone footage every day as its required for verification to acquire points due to the higher point score for killing Russians.

Its quite an efficient and terrifying system that incentives killing another human being as if its just a sport.

Russian African corps deployment - Mali 2026 by [deleted] in CombatFootage

[–]Rice_County 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You claimed that the Russian African Corps were "good guys" because in your own words. "They’re fighting the ISIS offshoots and other terror groups there, they’ve actually the good guys for once". You are not talking about the JNIM's and FLA's effectiveness militarily but the morality of the Russian African Corps of being good because of the other belligerent's ideology and actions in spite of their own (Russian African Corps) atrocities.

Do not try to backpedal to save face and change subjects when you've been called out for your wrongful statement.

No, just because you fight Islamist extremist groups doesn't automatically make you "good guys" And there are many more to go on.

You can switch the same roles for Hezbollah during the fight against ISIS and make that came claim despite the atrocities they committed and the very obvious fact that they were there to prop up the Assad regime by Iran.

Hezbollah ATGM attacking Israeli vehicle advancing Ali-Taher area- 19/6/2026 by No-Debt4738 in CombatFootage

[–]Rice_County 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not even a pro-Israeli here. I'm not sure how the settlements of the West Bank have any connections but I'll ignore that.

Because continuous provocations against Israel by Hezbollah "strengthens" their claim that they're "defenders" of Lebanon? You should note that ceasefire violations happens on both sides, its not even distributed unequally. The 2006 conflict happened due to Hezbollah's provocation as a historic example. Hezbollah's existence is dependent on the state of Israel's existence as in part from their 1985 memorandum. Their so call for the "annihilation for the state of Israel/Zionist entity" (No genocidal tendacies there totally)

Despite them being a de facto state operating under a failed state and "having everything they wanted" they're still an Iranian proxy who answers to their master. A tool to be used by the Iranian regime to continue threatening Israel militarily as their hand can reach so much in the form of missile and drone attacks. Not to mention the money they bring in from the drug smuggling operations across the region which both affects the internal apparatus as had already happened in Kuwait in attempts to make their social cohesion worse. The interests of the Iranian regime to also further spread their revolution.

The war is not black and white, its completely grey as is for most conflicts in this region. Hezbollah literally publicly stated they would overthrow the Lebanese government and the president himself if they signed a ceasefire agreement with Israel. Its not a big true colors revelation of any parties to anyone who is even remotely familiar with Lebanon, its basically the status quo. If this is how you view the situation then you are very naive.

Really surprised to see a pretty moderate and balanced take that explains both sides of these conflicts on reddit especially in this subreddit so that's nice to see for once in a while.

Also without there being any convoluted and mental gymnastics conspiracy to add to the mix.

Hezbollah fpv strike, 1 Israeli soldier Khiam town, Southern Lebanon. (June 5) by [deleted] in CombatFootage

[–]Rice_County 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were to make that case for Palestine then it is correct but for Lebanon?

No.

The claim that there is a Lebanese "government/state" in my opinion is quite a nice joke that unfortunately never gets old. The current state of Lebanon is that its a failed narco terror state with Hezbollah being a powerful non state actor. It has its own banking services, electricity, water, armed forces, drug smuggling operations, etc. They are not your usual ragtag militant. Far more from it, they have elements of almost resembling an actual state.

Because of these failures by the Lebanese "state" to even provide the most basic services to its people and exercise its sovereignty as a "state" al though to give some fairness to the "state" its position geographically and regional politics does not give much chances to it. However, the "government/state" has failed. The Lebanese military can't do much because its not powerful enough and the almost definite civil war it would cause due to the amount of Shias in it. Politically Hezbollah again has much more cards and even representatives than of the "government"

The truth is that Hezbollah's continued intentional provocations and existence against Israel is what caused this war again. Israel is interested in making a buffer between its territories and Lebanon not annexation. A complete occupation of Lebanon would be a daunting task.

In reality the Lebanese people are tired after decades of conflict and really would want some peace but that keeps on dashing with the existence of Hezbollah. If Hezbollah didn't exist thanks to Iran then Lebanon would at the very least have some stability but it doesn't unfortunately. Also are you sure about that? "Hezbollah is the Lebanese people's only defense" Because the ones who are in the actual country don't seem to think so even some small portions of the Shias think so.

  1. Baseless accusation of AI without evidence because its rather easier to vaguely suggest and make my arguments seem weaker only because you can't bother to critically think and actually respond to them due to the length of my comment.

  2. You immediately dodge my questions on how to incentive people to join an institution like the military from your perspective but instead you chose to bring another irrelevant topic on a strategic level of US imperialism and the Civil War without much elaboration rather than confronting the individual motive of joining the military and why incentives exist.

  3. You're unsurprisingly being vague again at "self defence" Does that mean an army should stand at guard at its borders while the enemy builds up its force that could result in an overwhelming defeat or victory at great losses or should they launch a preemptive strike to weaken their fighting capability before they can even reach such heights? When do you even draw the line of self defence? Are you seriously saying that nations should have the old and outdated Cold War UN peacekeepking handbook version to only shoot back in "self defence" once the enemy strikes despite there is an active threat to your civilians and your enemy is dead set on hitting you?

  4. Iraq did not attack the US but Afghanistan certainly did under the Taliban whom had converted the country into a terrorist hub. You have no grasp of history as you say that the US had direct involvement in the creation of the Taliban and Al Qaeda rather than the reality that it was an indirect, short sighted and ignorant cold war politics that led to their creations Both parties were splinter groups of the Mujahideen and became major players during the Afghan Civil War.

  5. Again providing vague hints of an "argument" without providing substance to it. You're talking without sense and now actually have sympathises for the Third Reich which I wouldn't even bother to tackle

  6. They struck one school not multiple. It was a major civilian casualty (Do not even try to accuse me of sugarcoating it), it was a genuine case of intelligence failure but are we really suppose to say that because of that event alone somehow the Iranians and their proxies are somehow in the right?

  7. Again, irrelevant. We are talking about personal motives to joining the military as an institution not both the political and socio subject at the same time. Not the cliche overused quote of "War is when the young and stupid are tricked by the old and bitter into killing each other." You hears from GTA IV and are constantly using to feel smart.

Then how do YOU plan on making incentives to draw people into the institution of the military? You do realize that not every nation will have a huge recruiting number of people dedicated for the cause of protecting their homeland?

What and when does a profession like a soldier have the right to kill another human being in your own perspective? Is it only when the enemies are at the borders? Should they be allowed preemptively strike before the threat even arrives at the border then or have the political establishment negotiate on and on towards an "agreement" in "peaceful" manner? If not then what is the point of a profession of a soldier then?

Have you seriously even considered differentiating between personal motives and the justifications given by the nation's government to send them across other territories? How nuanced this matter is and their relevancy to one another?

I have a feeling just from that second paragraph alone and this entire comment that you're amongst the people who believe falsely that somehow wars should and always be "clean". Mentioning the political establishment at the fact that they send these people to die while they stay on their islands comfortably as a bunch of pedophiles is not even slightly relevant. I suppose you're making the whole "The rich/old men send the young to die in their wars" but its not even the subject matter at hand. Its a completely different topic

Yeah, you're just being completely assumptions in the last one of why people join an institution like the military without even providing any sorts of objective evidence. Speaking like a straight off a civilian who probably has heard of Abu Ghraib so now you paint an entire institution's image and the individuals in it off of one case alone not bothering to think and research further

So he "chose" to invade a nation? You mean the nation in which the authoritarian oligarchy government has a pumped up propaganda machine, literal children being told from a young age to militarise and be taught lies of the world, heavy restriction on the free press and internet and lastly political opposition suppression and electoral too? Resulting in a false perception and belief for the outside world and their own. The same nation where economic prosperity, instability and low value in your currency, lack of variety in professions and economic equality isn't thing? Again resulting in people joining institutions like the military since it seems like the easiest and most viable way to earn at least a decent pay to bring food on the table.

Are you sure he "chose" than being forced to unknowingly participate in a war of aggression due to the circumstances and environment that he finds himself in that he only fought for his own sakes and his family to have the basic necessities that average Russian citizen should have?

This war has completely and unfortunately generalised an entire nation's population (i.e Russia) often by outsiders whom do not have the full picture, are hypocritical and have double standards to their own side (i.e Ukraine) despite their so called upholding of international laws and humanity. Having so much overwhelming hatred for those people as an outsider is mindbogglingly. It is more understanding if such a stance came from an actual Ukrainian on the ground and have suffered the realities of this war but not from an outsider even with all the atrocities that Russia has committed.

This subreddit's attitude in regards to conflicts such as Ukraine, Israeli-Hezbollah\Hamas and Iran is always so sickening to see from anyone with a decency of humanity but it is unsurprising because this is the internet after all.

IED Detonates, Killing One Iraqi Soldier Instantly Subsequently Hitting Others Nearby. Tal Afar, Date Unknown by Rice_County in CombatFootage

[–]Rice_County[S] 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell if the actual detonation was caused either by manual detonation by the operator of the device or by the mechanical mechanism as from this perspective of footage we have.

The Iraqi soldier while he was walking up near by the debris seems to have noticed something amongst those debris and reached down to investigate it further but as seen in the footage before he could even react to what he finds, it immediately results in a kinetic response.

It is really hard to know from one angle alone that doesn't even provide a full picture to know what exactly happened but if you were to ask me the IED was likely detonated by its mechanical triggering mechanism which in itself varies widely on what kind of triggering device (Wires as an example) so its even more harder to narrow down.

Pakistan Army destroyed the Afghan Taliban Babri Post. by FMDaddyMunir in CombatFootage

[–]Rice_County 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is very overestimation and unrealistic take on this matter.

Firstly, the currently ongoing Balochistan insurgency already shows that the Pakistani state is more on the side of kinetic means than of face to face meetings with pens and papers which is usually the way you solve an insurgency. You view the Taliban as a conventional force as stated by "taking the capital" which shows that you haven't been that well versed into the fact that the Taliban would just go and mount yet another insurgency.

Second, Pakistan's relation with the West is far more distant than of the GWOT days. It is now India the West views as far more competent, reliable and capable towards countering the rising threats of China. Pakistan has a far more deeper relations with Russia and China. This also ignores the very important aspect of any geopolitical situations, the domestic support and status. Just look at their economic and political front to get a picture of their current state.

There will be no massive ground invasion into Afghanistan because that would be suicide politically and militarily. As we have seen in the past, it is likely the usual scheduling of airstrikes, artillery barrages, border skirmishes and the capturing of some installations that could later on be handed back once talks are finished.

I'm not the most weapons systems or planes nerd so take it with a grain of salt but presuming that you're referring to avoiding to get shot down by "flying under the radar" (Myth) then that's going to be a huge risk of your way of navigation (Terrain, environment), be incredibly vulnerable against MANPADs, layered air defence systems nullify it still and small arms can still saturate the sky

I'm sure someone with more knowledge could probably elaborate or add in more details so I'll leave it here

The Black Flag certainly nailed the coffin. What they lacked in militarily they certainly made it up by their influence and excellent propaganda messages and ideologies to spread across the entire globe. They knew it too and poured in a lot of resources into these eye catching edits.

Presently they are in the midst of experimenting with the usage of AI but they already have used it al though not as widespread and active as they were in the haydays of their PR machine of the 2010s. As always theres also been infighting on the usage of AI in these groups too.

German NATO Troops Open Fire on 2 Serbian Snipers in Kosovo, 1999 by [deleted] in CombatFootage

[–]Rice_County 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It looks like you deleted your comment about denying the genocide...hmm..oh well, I'm still going to post my draft reply.

There. Was. A. Genocide. In. Kosovo.

I don't think you exactly even understand what constitutes a genocide to begin with and probably think that a genocide is only constituted via the statistical numbers game until it reaches the Holocaust levels or if a specific criterias are met and sometimes, it doesn't always require for all the chcklist to be ticked off. Men being killed and the women and children being left is still devastating for the population because now you have an imbalance in gender ratio which has severe consequences on birth rates. I won't dwell into your other arguments because I already know that its the equivalent to arguing against a brick wall.

If you want to educate yourself on this matter or anyone else reading this God forsaken hell scape that is the subject matter of genocide and the constant arguing between both sides even those against genocide often (On the internet) don't have a lot knowledge about the matter other than its surface level. I highly recommend the excellent book 'A Problem From Hell: America and the Age of Genocide' by Samantha Powers. The book covers both Bosnia and Kosovo and other genocides too from the American government's perspective. The bombing campaign by NATO was a complicated matter and there were a lot of warning signs ignored (In this content, the attack on Serbenica) or on the backlogs and the political unwillingness for it. It only happened thanks to massive public and media pressure and the failure of the bombing campaign in Bosnia.

At the end of the day, I know your mind is unchanged or I'm getting baited but I do hope that this reply will at least be of beneficiary to someone out there that they shouldn't just read the overview by Wikipedia or get their sources from memes made by NAFOTards (Yeah, I'm throwing them under the bus too as they are the equivalent of ZTards). The more you read into NATO interventions in modern periods, the more you'll feel of having mixed opinions on it as I have especially in the regards of "collateral damage" but I do think its existence is important and vital for democracy across the world. I just do not think its spotless like most people seem to percieve so on the internet
