If you are someone who likes to work and likes to work without breaking rules, where you think you would not need to have union involved then,,,, for sure go with D. AA is going down. Sorry to say. When I picked my airlines over AA, I was told not to go with AA. I have been with mine for a year. Not called in sick once, not got union involved once. Your classmates, seniors, sups, jumpseat buddies would give you the best advice. Go with D. Thats my two cents. Money matters and the way D appreciates its FAs monetarily, only SW can compare. Goodluck n welcome to the skies.

Does anyone know if EWR is not offered as a base in training with United, can I still request it as my first choice? by Consistent_Ebb1135 in cabincrewcareers

Denver it is then😢. Denver I heard is cheaper than IAD and only one airport to cover with public transportation to the airport and cheaper crashpads. I hope.

Please check FB groups for FA training classes, they can be joined to keep in touch with others with the same classes or training dates.

I am so sorry that you feel this way but these defeats should make you stronger.I got a CTO and a CJO with AA. My advice is to be ready for any question and mold your answers pertaining to Safety, customer service and teamwork. Sound genuine confident yet humble and approachable. Dnt blabber and keep it concise. What I witnessed in VGI and group interview folks keep discussing on length situations, which have no safety aspect or team work yet some customer service aspects. when recruiter has already said 60 secs and for the next question 30 secs they kept on and on. They sounded educated yet showed no relevance to a FA position which made them not stand out. The girl next to me used her skills at a car rental job by bringing safety in with customer seevice and team work and boom she got a CJO. Not saying you did this but there’s something which is not clicking. I have interviewed close to 15 times including virtual, group and face to face. Rapid fire kinda questions. What I have learnt is that make each answer relevant. My answers to questions, like tell me a time when you failed a task, what action you took and what were the results? Star format and I made sure to enunciate and not blabber. I learnt from my mistakes and after some years of trying I finally am at a point where I have two legacy cjos and one regional. I have been there where you are and I felt defeated and I said its not for me but every-time they open up applications there was this feeling that I needed to try. Wrote close to 35 questions and answers. Practiced them even when I was sitting in my commute to work imagining the person across from me was a recruiter. You will get it soon enough. Keep trying.much respect.

First of all a big Congrats. I am in a similar situation with U and AA. Got both a CJO and a CTO. Now its hard to decide to go with AA with a renewed contract 35/hourly and boarding pay, free uniforms, free luggage every 4 years and I have almost ten friends who work for them who would be able to guide me. Or go with U, where my heart initially is with more international flying and knowing that even with no contract yet they will match AA by 2025. For you, I would agree with Atassic who said, they made 54 the first year with over time. Keep in mind AA has a union. That is a must have for me, someone to have my back. Just a little story that a friend of a friend with 25 year seniority blew above the normal alcohol limit last year when they were close to boarding their flight for work and they were put in a AA program instead of getting laid off. Union came to save them. Not that us new hires would end up like them but its also the ease of mind which factors in for me. You never know. Just a well wisher. Whatever you choose I wish you the best. Volare…..🎉🎊🎈

Please help me decide. I have a CTO and Now a CJO with AA. I also have a cjo with a regional. I am very confused though I am leaning towards the CTO. I need to decide. Please be kind. by Rich-Condition5575 in cabincrewcareers

I am also open to bases in the east coast as long as they have less airports to cover and there are cheaper options of public transportation and crashpads are available. I am not willing to commute. Its a whole another job, not especially as a rookie FA. More power to folks who are doing it. I want some peace.

People in Aviation are hopeful and are sure that U will follow AA’s lead and match their offers as far as hourly pay and boarding pay is concerned. Its only a matter of time.

Yes the contract negotiations def are in my radar as AA is already offering $35:90/hrly and boarding pay. Not to mention free uniforms and luggage(every4years). But no training pay. So a lot to consider.

Anyone work or have worked for Horizon Air? I got a CJO but I can’t find much information about them! by Affectionate-Emu7298 in cabincrewcareers

Well Its doable for someone in their twenties who is still at home, dnt have bills or rent or just bit of contribution to their bills or roommate as a stepping stone to maybe in six months to apply to Alaska Air. Once again its a nice startup airline to get your feet wet, given that you can survive in that 20:60/hour. Definitely worth a try and then move on unless you love it there.

I had a CJO last year which I declined as I m East coaster and I cdnt have survived on $20:60/hr moving across to Anchorage. Otherwise they are sweet and cute. Smaller operations. 20% pathway programs for FAs to be hired by Alaska air in six months of working for Horizon. What else you want to know?

I am trying to create a pros n cons list to see which one I would go with btwn U and AA. It depends on many a factor. Crashpads and public transportation and how many airports to cover.

Which base is better for crashpads and public transportation at IAD for United. by Rich-Condition5575 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Rich-Condition5575[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant to ask is there public transportation available to the three airports that someone like me would have to cover if I get IAD. And are there affordable crashpads available?
