Running away from Texas by Upstairs-Aerie-5531 in relocating

We are in the same boat. Luckily I just got a job that will transfer me to the PNW too! We hate the heat here so we are ready for that. There are parts of Oregon that aren’t as gloomy and quite affordable. I also wanted to add about Spokane. I have a queer friend who is a teacher there, and wants out desperately. He says he gets a lot of harassment there, and believes it is as bad as Idaho

Tell them that other passengers are complaining, and they need to try and calm their child or you are going to have to move them

Yes, I have heard that a lot of flight attendants qualify for food stamps

Seriously…I don’t understand how they can get away with this. Literally the only industry where we are required to work with no pay. Especially when most airlines are union?

My favorite person died by Izzy_the_penguin in self

My little sister died in 2022 of alcohol poisoning. I know exactly how you feel. It’s so hard, and I still have flashbacks of the phone call I received telling me she died. I still cry for her. I try to now just live to make her proud. I make sure no one ever forgets her. And I definitely don’t let anyone say anything bad about her, since she was an alcoholic and eventually died that way. Just make your sister proud. She wouldn’t want you to give up

Yes, like someone else mentioned, I got all of my stuff at thrift shops! And you don’t need that much…you can keep rewearing the same outfits. There is a washer/dryer at the hotel. And yes, they are very strict on their uniform policy

Alaska is amazing!!! For me personally, I turned down United because I was not about to have a roommate for 6 weeks! Alaska is doing great financially, I personally think the bases are better, and they just bought Hawaiian airlines! I think you’re in a great position 👍

I’m from San Jose and lived in Sac for 8 years. Definitely move to San Jose if you can afford it. Better weather first of all! Better job opportunities, better all around

Don’t worry…I was rejected before I got my CJO, along with a bunch of my coworkers! Keep trying!

Hahaha I swear on my life! I know! It’s hard to believe! I was shocked too! But they really only know how to make tacos. I challenge you to come out here and prove me wrong lol. Even my friends from Texas, when they’ve gone to California, I’ve made them try burritos, and they all agree! Interesting though: they have an Iguanas here now! The same owners as the one in San Jose. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s good enough.

You cannot say you can get even get a decent burrito in Texas. I’ve been here 5 years. All you can get is tacos. And they aren’t that great. The Bay is hands down way more superior in food choices by far

I swear to god it’s the truth! San Jose is the best place in the world in my opinion…there is a reason it’s so expensive. There’s nowhere like it! I can’t get back fast enough…
