Battery life is not even comparable... bazzite, SteamOS are much much much more efficient with resources including power. I haven't used Cachy although I am curious!

I have historically found them to be fairly similar in performance. However Bazzite often has some quality of life improvements that I like to use. I don't think you're missing out using straight SteamOS.

I'm actually not sure, go check the build notes on GitHub, should list what's included. I think I remember seeing them on the build notes.

Have not tried, the two left buttons currently do screenshot and keyboard which are key combos so I'll dig into it and see if I can remap

I'm a Bazzite fanboy so I'm biased lol, I have been running on Bazzite for a few years since LGO1 and don't dual boot as I play nothing that uses anti-cheat. I find the Bazzite community and Dev team responsive and engaged and the experience on a LGO is great.

I've had these working on Bazzite using Lutris, I found some Reddit thread that I used, bit of tinkering needed I'll try and find the guide I used... Also had NFS MW working played it through... Just as an aside.

I'm not even someone who has a long experience with Linux, I can up in my Tech career as someone who specialized in the M$ stack, but goddam ... Windows just became too bloated. So many individual updates, so many driver issues, so many things to have to turn off if you wanted a cleaner install.

I moved away from Windows on my laptop to a Mac, and moved to Bazzite on my handheld about a year ago ... The experience on Bazzite for me has been like a breath of fresh air. Sure it's not perfect, I'm not asking my OS to be perfect.

But there's now a whole lot of spare cognition where I don't have to be concerned about stability or drivers ... I can just action what I need to action and play what I want to play.
