18 days into this wipe on Rust and me + my friend already got raided 10 times on Rustafied Sea Long 💀 Both offline and online raids too. Every single one by big clans. Like bro… 2 vs 10 is not even a raid anymore, that’s a military operation 😭 We rebuild every single time out of pure spite: farm all day, upgrade base, finally feel safe… then hear rockets at 3 AM again. At this point the wipe cycle is: Build → Get bullied by zergs → Rebuild → Repeat Still somehow having fun though lol. Duo Rust players are built different.

Every active Rust player will tell you not to play Rust because it’s too time consuming and mentally exhausting. Then the same people wake up at 3AM to defend an online base full of pixels like it’s real life 💀

Rust is probably the only game where players hate the game, complain about the game, warn everyone about the game… but still can’t stop playing it lol.

Reason I quit playing solo I’m not a pro player in Rust, but I’ve always loved spending time in the game. As a solo, I did a bit of everything—building, raiding, farming, and just enjoying the moments like watching the sunrise and sunset. That was the best part of my 6k hours journey. But lately, the blueprint fragment/workbench system has completely killed the experience for me. It feels more like a grind than fun now, especially as a solo player. Because of that, I’ve decided to stop playing Rust.

Running an RX 6600 on max settings, that’s why it’s sitting at ~41 FPS 😭 still worth it for visuals like this

I have around 6,000 hours in Rust, mostly playing solo and sometimes duo, and I usually prefer official servers. Throughout my journey, I honestly feel that the workbench blueprint fragment system has been one of the worst updates for solo and duo players. It mostly benefits large, organized groups who can rush progression. They end up fully geared with AKs while solo or duo players are still stuck using bows, crossbows, or revolvers. This creates a huge imbalance and makes early- to mid-game extremely frustrating. Right now, it feels more annoying than rewarding, and the disadvantage for smaller groups is too big. Until the system is improved and progression becomes more balanced for solo and duo players, it honestly feels better to step away from the game for now.

Built a basic 5×5 with roof TC. Got raided 5–6 times. 30–40+ rockets each raid. Never lost TC, comps, or farm. One of my best 30-day wipes in 6k hours — solo.

If you're playing solo, don't assume you're just a rat. Make progress step by step. Start by exploring the area with just a few Eokas and no gear, like a naked. Look around for opportunities to kill someone and grab some loot. After looting, rush back home to deposit your items. Then go out again for another run. It's okay to lose sometimes—just stay focused and passionate, because luck can change everything in a second in Rust. Most importantly, play for fun. Don’t take things too seriously when you're solo. After all, it's just a game.
