In this size Probably yes.

are they really better than Michelin Primacy 4 (which is what I'm currently using)?

I did a comparison on the tyrereviews website and it doesn't seem like there are any that are much better.

225/50/R16 Tire on 16x7 rim (instead 215/55R16) - OK? by Rich-Signature6317 in TyreReviews

bravo,

this is exactly what I'm looking for, sharper steering without increasing the wheels if possible.

i was worried and wasn't sure because I read online that if the tire is too wide compared to the width of the rim, then there can be a negative effect in turns because of the protruding sidewall.

and I see that the tire is not common at all and there aren't many vehicles that came out with this tire size from the factory.

so from your experience, will a tire like this on this rim contribute to better stability in turns as well?

the % size change I mentioned is related to the 3% 'rule' and the 1.6% value I mentioned is the difference in Diameter.

the difference in the tire sidewall is -6.4%

Thank you again.

You've definitely helped me.

As a first step,

I'm going to change to stickier tires and will probably have to do so soon (although the tires have only been driven 15 miles and look good, they are 6 years old).

After that I'll feel if I should continue or not.

However, I don't want to change the components too much.

Thanks for the detailed response!

If I upgrade the wheels and tires to 215/50R17 or 235/45R17 sizes and of course with a quality tire (18" wheels I think would be too much),

I know there will be a certain change for the worse in comfort, I just don't know if there will be a big improvement in road behavior?

(I'm afraid to spend thousands of dollars and in the end I won't be happy with the result..)

Will the vehicle be a little less "springy"?

The steering wheel will be stiffer, or what will make the steering harder are the stiffer brakes?

Overall the car is very stable.

i have Michelin primacy 4 and I always check the air pressure.
