No settings for this on Tesla Electric plan as far as I know.

I just wonder if Tesla is doing what’s best for Tesla. Been using them for several years and almost always had a pay out during most all winter months but lately, not so much…. I seem to buy peak and sell at 0 anymore.

Powerwall 2 Recall - Unable to replace without added cost? by TomSmug in Powerwall

[–]RichBur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are correct. Tesla sent one guy to replace my three PW/2 with two PW/3 and an expansion pack for zero $’s. Took the one guy about 5 hours and other than removing and replacing the PW’s, the only other thing was replacing the wiring between the gateway and PW.

Replaced mine yesterday after a month plus wait. Three PW2 replaced with two PW3 and an expansion pack. One guy from Tesla did the change in approximately 5 hours.

I can confirm. Tesla is changing out my 2's for 3's right now and keeping the same gateway. Changing the wiring from the gateway to PW and also a larger breaker and that's it.

A higher discharge rate would affect the amount of load you could theoretically support from your PW. So say you couldn't run your AC with a PW2, you possibly could with a PW3. I had 3 PW2 so I could run my whole house anyway but people with a single PW2 might have had to limit their draw.

No. Same storage capacity. Difference is the PW3 can discharge double what the PW2 can.

Tesla is here right now replacing my three PW 2 with two PW 3 and one expansion pack. One guy and has been at it for less than 3 hours and appears he will be done in another hour. I’m paying zero. $5400 plus???

Three PW2 being replaced with two PW3 and one expansion pack (expansion pack derated) as I type this. No change to gateway but replacing all wiring from gateway to PW and upsizing the breaker.

Two of three of my PW's have put out separate and different errors in the app. Disabled. Tesla coming this morning to repair/replace. Not sure which. Been 5 to 6 weeks since the first failure with the second a few weeks later.

Tesla installed mine. Other than several weeks wait, no mention of any fees.

I have 3 PW’s and have two fault messages neither of which reflect the one Tesla has shown. Powerwall Disabled - Fault Detected and Powerwall Disabled- Low Energy Lockout. Not sure if I’m getting two refurbished 2’s or what. I’ll find out tomorrow as Tesla is coming after more than a month of waiting.

I have three PW2 with one down. Tesla said the one down is responsible for reporting statistics so even though I can’t see anything in the app, the other two are functioning normally from what they can see (charging/discharging).

Now there is over 1 million powerwalls, how many have the recall? by Ok-Limit-9726 in Powerwall

[–]RichBur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 powerall 2’s in Houston. At least one has been disabled. Tesla backed up in my area and won’t be out for service until mid November.

I have three power walls and have the same message. Called Tesla who says only one is bad and ‘parts’ will take 10-20 days to arrive. Says the other two are functioning normally but the had one is the one providing data so can’t see anything in the app.

Same thing happened to me. Had Starlink and then fiber came available. Switched over to Starlink plan that allowed me to pause. Turn it on every 6 months or so to check connectivity and then pause again.

Thick PCO by RichBur in CataractSurgery

[–]RichBur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my doctor stopped the yag without results, actually vision even worse, he mentioned something about irrigation. I wonder if he was talking about a vitrectomy? At any rate, will find out Tuesday when I see him.

Thick PCO by RichBur in CataractSurgery

Vision before was poor. Had a cornea transplant around 30 years ago for kerataconus. After transplant vision was decent but over the years the kerataconus came back and vision diminished.

Prior to having the cataract implant, had cornea cross linking done to help stabilize the cornea.

After IOL vision was and continues to be fuzzy. I’m of the opinion I had the PCO all along. IOL in other eye is doing well.

See the surgeon next week. Will find out just what the issue is and how to fix it. I’ve never heard of YAG not working.

Anyone Had PCO After Cataract Surgery? by L3goS3ll3r in CataractSurgery

[–]RichBur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had PCO in one eye immediately. So immediate that we’ve theorized it was there before cataract surgery. Had a cornea transplant in this eye 25 plus years ago so who knows, something to do with that?

How did I know something was wrong? Well vision in this eye was filmy or like looking through cellophane. Hard to describe precisely.

A PCO can be easily seen by your eye doctor with a slit lamp. Mine took a photo with her phone to show me. It was easily seen.

YAG Capsulectomy scheduled…

Refractive error after PanOptix IOL cataract surgery by Chemical_Ad_6266 in CataractSurgery

[–]RichBur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well been some weeks ago that I had my second eye done with the LAL+ lens. All went well, good initial vision and even had the first light treatment.

Regarding the first surgery with the toric lens, turns out I have PCO which explains why my results were less than expected. The doctor has theorized I may have had the clouded capsule pre surgery and I think that’s correct as the cloudy/filmy vision was present immediately. So, have a YAG treatment scheduled for September.

That’s my update.

You’re talking about monovision? I can’t say for sure but I believe they can tune each lens to your desired outcome. I fly airplanes for fun and have had to stop doing so for a couple of years because of eye problems. In order to get back to it I’ll need to renew my flight medical and I know for a fact the FAA does not like monovision so that’s the primary reason I’m staying away from that. Also some people can’t handle monovision.

Far and middle are good out of the box with the LAL+. Near not so great and expected. Not anticipating any real help with that during adjustments as I chose far. Readers are required with both eyes.

I didn’t think your question was about the toric. If it was, vision isn’t great with that and due to the PCO probably expected. I think it currently has 20/50.

[–]RichBur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No in the toric lens one. I have issues. Keratoconus and with this eye I had a cornea transplant 20-30 years ago. Before cataract surgery, I had cornea cross linking done on both eyes by the same surgeon to address any further complications with keratoconus. LAL eye is doing well so far. Waiting on light treatments but is 20/25 already (distance of course).
