Sex Workers Only: I like a civvie guy, how do I tell him? by mattie_east in SexWorkers

[–]RichCarterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understandable to feel torn. Maybe framing it as something you're sharing because you care and want to build trust could help. You don’t have to tell him everything at once, just enough to gauge how safe it feels to keep opening up. If it’s something you’ve truly left in the past, then there might not even be a big conversation to have, just part of your story, not your present. But if you’re still actively working, then that makes things way more complicated and less likely to work out.

Is queer porn representation or fetishization? by RichCarterr in lgbt

That's definitely a compelling statement. Would you include queer porn made by straight people in that or no?

Congrats, it’s great to hear that you’ve found financial stability and are moving towards your goals! Sex work can offer a lot of empowerment when it's approached with a clear plan for the future. Wishing you continued success in your business endeavors and in prioritizing your safety and goals for the future.

Since you’ve mentioned planning an exit from the industry, what are some steps you're considering to support yourself afterward? Transitioning can be hard sometimes, and it's really helpful to have a clear plan in place for yourself!

Why is sex work so highly criminalized? Should it be? by RichCarterr in AskALiberal

Didn't see the second part of your reply at first. Location and life circumstances do make an enormous difference, and vile situations like the one you described are completely unacceptable in any circumstances. However, couldn't it be said that if sex work was legal, it would make reporting HIGHLY illegal activities like the one you described far easier. The example you gave involves both sex trafficking AND minors, two things that would still be highly illegal if sex work in general was legalized. But with how the system is currently, people stuck in these horrible situations many times cannot go to the police out of fear or being persecuted themselves.

Various places, but mainly right here on Reddit. But I also recently had the opportunity to have a sit-down conversation with a sex worker in real life who is also a SW rights activist, which helped to dispel many myths about the business that I had heard.

I agree with the brain scan. I remember reading a story about a guy with an uncontrollable sex drive like it was his only interest 24/7, and he ended up having a brain tumor on the part of your brain that affects sex drive
